My FIRST template. Please comment/leave suggestions! I will give the template to people free, under the CPL (at elvenprog.com, but I am setting up the site now so it is a bit messy ).

P.S.- my image is just a narrow capture of the setup

It's definitely a start. Keep practicing and you'll get better and better. Also, don't let negative comments discourage you. It's a normal part of the process :)

The background is a bit distracting and makes the text hard to read. What's wrong with white? ;)

    I agree with medyo4zy.

My advice is that you start with more simple pages (or clean if you prefer), than try something more edgy and use patterns.

Also as Messer.Edge said - if your attempt is learning to code, the design has nothing to do with it :)

It's nice that you get started, and remember that each of us was at beginning some time.
My only advice is to keep on doing them, that is the only way you can get experience.
Also, try to google and try layouts and css tutorials, they can help you learn more.

read more on web standards, colors, page size and division, all I can say is that your first page is better than the page I made for the first time 5 years ago :p

    Hy,
If you keep practicing you'll get good results.
For me, that logo has to dark color, but anyway, it's a subjective opinion.
