Does anybody feeling if there website running SLOW down OR Getting "ERROR ESTABLISHING A DATABASE ERROR" Seriously with hostgator, we are having business more then 4k+ but they seem like doesn't care about very much from now onwards. We tried to talk with them more then 20 times, but either they stopped talking or do not response or they get Good One EXCUSE all the time. "Sorry, server get Load too much, This will resolve within next 24 hours. Have patience" Thank you!! What the HECKKKK!! Am losing my clients just because of them and no one Real responding for it . I wonder if Anybody does have same problem.
'Unlimited' hosting for like 4 bucks a month, what do you expect? Best to find a decent hosting provider, might cost more money but you get what you pay for and it's worth the money to have someone knowledgeable to speak to when things go wrong.
From what i've heard around their support is generally very good - however their servers are overloaded as they oversell like crazy
Hostgator are one of if not the best hosting company around. Their uptime is second to none as is their customer service!. No I don't work for them.. But you will struggle to find better.
I've never used Hostgator before, but they sound like a good "shared" hosting company. These type of issues you could expect with other shared hosting companies too. Really if the website is that important to have really good speeds and/or no downtime, it would be best setup your own servers or find some type of VPS or dedicated hosting company. A good analogy of this is having a big important celebrity going to the airport and flying coach instead of first class although the top dogs like Bill Gates will probably be flying their own plane (AKA - setting up their own servers).
well experience vary from person to person, but i my self have very high satisfaction level with hostgator. I am using multiple packages of different companies for my client sites, the best ones i found are hostgator, justhost and site5, as my clients are using their services and i am the one who use to monitor every thing for those sites.
I find that unlikely. I've seen the servers these type of web hosts have. Each server rack is HUGE and costs about $100,000 and they have a lot of customers on them. Additionally they add new ones whenever needed, but their main goal is to monitor and balance out the server load. So that may mean they have to shut down someones website, or suspend some and ask them to remove files because they have too many.
High or low price does not indicate the quality of service. There is too much competition and even big companies are selling for less infact in some cases less then their purchase price. Customer satisfaction is the most important thing for any company, they are the real promoter of any business.
I have a dedicated server with Hostgator - it also went down this morning. Its been down for about 9 hours now.
well, its been a couple of hours later, and its still down. First time a server of mine has almost been down for 12 hours!
I don't know if it's still the same with 3 years ago, however when I was using Hostgator shared package for forum, sometimes we get a database error as well, possibly because they greatly limit MySQL max allowed packet and connect errors on their shared servers. On our case, the visitor should try to refresh the pages several times before reaching the actual pages without error. If you're experiencing the same, I would suggest to migrate to VPS and tweak the MySQL configuration to your specific need.
Same here I do experience the same thing as you years ago. Their server load is terrible high. Many of my blog reader complain that they receive error when accessing my site.
"ERROR ESTABLISHING A DATABASE ERROR" Normally means you need to clear the MYSQl process queue and restart MYSQL, WHMCS can course this if the daily cron is to large for the server to handle.
