I have been using clicksor as my only monetization so far on my current website I built a month ago, http://www.crysis2leaked.com. Frankly, comparing whats out there, for me its been a god sent and really worked well for my style, the only problem I face now is making a 50.00$ before 5 months is up or you get banned from the network. As I am right now, Iv jumped around from making 60 cents a day to as low as 9 cents. Seems I'm holding at around 20 currently, thats with about 600 impressions a day and a click or two with around 500 uniques daily. This isnt going to cut it for me, I need to make another site, probably two. I want to make another gaming website, I have a template I'm thinking about using at http://www.activemp.co.cc/. I was thinking either a first person shooter fansite like call of duty modern warfare 3 or battlefield 3 both havent been released but are suppose to later this year, either that or a new mmo that is scheduled to release as well this year like guild wars 2 or star wars the old republic. Its hard as hell driving traffic without spending ungodly amounts of money and I'm here to make, not spend so it seems like an lose-lose kinda situation. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about spending money and giving a slice to everyone but it would be nice for people to be able to still make something without having to invest 1000% more then the yeild will ever return or if not ever then long ways down the road.
The problem is, you picked a niche that is only good for a limited amount of time. Crysis 2 is out on Steam and at the local stores. Unless your looking for warez, your site name has little importance. And if your promoting warez, then google might blacklist your site.
well gaming fansites can be profitable, thousands of fans want to be able to chat with other fans about there favorite game everyday, thats what making a gaming site is all about. catering to the fans. No I don't have any intention of warez, its just a fansite for gaming fans to be able to communicate.
I would have to agree there, your domain sounds like something that will hit a major downfall since the game is now out and no one will be bothered coming back to a site which has "leaked" content. Unless you're promoting your gaming site as well as crysis-online does I think you will have a hard time surviving. Sorry if this is harsh but maybe you should look for something more permanent?
well its described on the search engines as just a fan site which is what it is. There are alot of regulars I think that come to the website because of how early the game was released, its just that there are only so many crysis fans out there plus I have a sever running with my domain being shown every minute to people that play it so Ill always have visitors. I was thinking maybee seeing if I couldnt get a small niche (call of duty world at war 3 or battlefield 3, both of which are releasing soon) forum to work with clicksor and generate a bit more revenue. In all honesty im happy enough with how much my site is making, but clicksor you have a cut off line of 50$ in 6 months so I need to make that and I only just hit 5 dollars in about 25 days. Clicksor isnt like adsence, you dont get between 20 and 70 cents for each click, they give you a solid revenue for pageviews. Interstitial, banner&textlink, messageadd, popunders and inline are all apart of clicker which makes them great cause of the flexiblity you have to put different types of adds on your site that all make money, even so those are solid and defined with pageviews giving you a resonable idea of how much you can make with the amount of traffic you generate, the clicks maybee pay out a few cents though so its not like you get your cake and eat it too, so in regards to click payout its no where near, not even 10% as much as addsence. This makes it easier tho for them I would imagine and be more relaxed about how stickt they are with there accounts. The most I made so far was 52 cents in one day and that was the day crysis 2 released, I got 1300 unique visitors. I am open to any other form of website, Iv made torrent sites, PTC(paytoclick),web directories, news sites, just about anything you can imagine, dozens of forums. I need something though that can get me over my 50$ cut off line before its to late. Finding a quick user base through torrent sites for gaming websites in all honesty is fast and easy and is probably my best route to reach my cut off line even if its not the best way to do so. I See lots of people making nice sites though and generating lots of hits in reasonable amouns of time. I just dont want to get into anything thats going to take me 3 months to even get up to 100 uniques daily. Here is pic of my dailys so far this month, april.
