Blog commenting is not only the process to obtaining backlinks, it's a technique that used to build your network with your niche peoples and there by driving more relevant traffic to your site.
Doing blog commenting just for the sake of link building is any which ways BAD. I guess one need to be more authentic while writing comments for their blogs. So do link building with blogs but not with the motive of doing that.
As per my knowledge we should write a unique comment on the post. so that people can approve our comment easily and fast. So try to write some thing unique in the comment.
Blog comment is really time consuming. I hired freelancers to do it for me before, but most of comments have no connection with my keywords. He leave the link in the site section. BTW, Does anybody know how to get if the comment need to be verified BEFORE posting?

Blogcommenting is still efective for SEO, I have seen my frienda apply it into their optimizing. I can see their blog on 1st page with SEO services keyword.
it depends, I have a network of blogs that are high PR and aged. When I first bought my network it got spammed and I stopped all comments, deleted irrelevant comments and it helped a lot. Now I use my network for my own SEO and sell a blog commenting service as well. All my blogs are do follow and most are at least PR2 and several PR6. These links have pushed some of my sites to #1 in no time. I have 1000 and growing on the network, if I create a new blog and build links through the related niches PR shoots right up with updates. It works out pretty well.
blog commenting take to much time to get the backlink of the website because most of the website close its comments area and also some blog are nofollow.
Blog commenting is great for SEO, but ensure that the comment leaves value or else the admin will simply remove it, blogs are loved by the search engines, and blog commenting is a lot easier to do than say article writing and submission and press releases
