What's is the best video editing software. I have videos I recorded on my digital camera. Where they are extremely dark. I'm trying to tune the contrast and brightness on these videos. Then apply and save the videos with these new settings? Am I able to do this with Adobe Premiere?
Probably - to a point. Remember that videos suffer from the same problem as digital stills where the darker the original is, the harder it will be to correct it. Even the most advanced editing software can't restore pixels that simply aren't there! Save yourself a lot of time & effort by making sure that your originals are shot correctly (lighting, exposure, etc). Attention to detail at this point means less "fiddling" later on! Best, --JR
So far I know that Ulead is the best video editing software...... The latest version of Ulead is combined with very newly tools which makes video realistic.
You can use one of the following software: Free Video Editer: Windows Movie Maker (for windows) http://download.live.com/moviemaker/ iMovie (for mac) http://www.apple.com/ilife/imovie/ Professional Video Editer: AVS Video Editor (for windows) http://www.avs-video-editor.org/ Final Cut Pro (for mac) http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/ Adobe Premiere (for windows) http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/ Sony Vegas Pro (for windows) http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegaspro
You can do this with VirtualDub and any of the many brightness/contrast filters out there. IT'S ALL FREE. If you want to pay to do it, then Vegas is a good place to start.

I use Sony Vegas primarily for video editing. I've never really tried to alter the contrast or brightness though.
