Well Google PR is nothing but Google's trust level on you. Its just an anti-spamming measure. Getting links from high PR sites might not be that useful for you but getting links from high mozRank sites really does!!
mozRank is SEOmoz’s link popularity metric that shows how popular (in terms of links) a webpage is on the web. Precisely, the more links a page gets, especially from bigger sites, the higher its MR will be. I appreciate the simplicity of it.

Now for SEO's out there in the market: Look for high mozRank pages for quality back-linking rather than looking for high Google PR sites...

The problem is, most big sites only link to sites they are associated with.

Lets take yahoo news for example, for the most part yahoo news only links to sites that they are in a contract with, or that they have a business agreement with. If you visit yahoo news often enough, you will see that the majority of the links only go to "certain" sites.

There are exceptions, but for the most part LARGE sites will only link to sites that they have a financial interest in, or a business agreement with. Because of this, the mozrank is rubbish. Its just a way for really large sites to corner the market.

What makes you think Mozrank is better than PR.... Yes.. In some cases analyzing the link metrics is beneficial. but MOZrank is just as worthless as the SEO tools SEOMOZ provides...

I don't think MozRank would be able to defeat Google Page Rank. I think mozrank is nothing but a crap try to make something different.
