I'd like to hear an update on this because in no universe is the domain worth that much money. It's not that good at all. So if you have found that one person that has a specific use for it and needs that exact domain..it's only going to come around once.
Anyone could easily just register something close or buy something else and do just as well with it.

I'd really like to hear that you sold it.

I would sell the name for $50, you wont get another offer on this name. I am gathering that you registered (Feb 2011) this name after you saw the sale of the .com, I would advise against this type of selling strategy, it just doesn't work..

    Good luck

Actually, the .com domain itself doesn't worth $500!
So, you should accept any offer for that weak domain before you cry for paying the registration fees without being able to sell it.

Or wait till the com owner trademarked his name and make you give up your domain for free :)

Well considering that you said you wouldn't take anything less than $1k, and now you won't take anything less than $1.5k it seems that you are just going to increase your price continually. From my point of view, also a 'pro' in these matters, above and around $1k would be fair, and if you try and charge anyone $1.5k then that is just extortion.

Sell it as fast as you can. The name is only worth as much as what someone is willing to pay for it.You might hold it for a year waiting for $1500, only to find out your interested buyers you had have moved on and nobody wants it anymore.

"above and around" $1,000 is fair, but somehow $1500 is extortion? That doesn't even make sense. I do not think you understand what the word extortion means. It does not apply to someone just asking more than you think something is worth.

Anyway, the domain is worth what someone will pay. So far, that looks to be about reg fee. Curious to see if anyone would actually pay a premium for some second rate .net. Maybe, suckers are born every day.
