Well ive seen a few thing's recently that have caught my eye as bad seo techniques and they should be avoided at all costs whilst trying to rank in the serp's. 1 Keyword Stuffing keyword stuffing will not help your website rank in any way shape or form, infact google and most main search engines will frown upon this and it will drop your site down a few notch's. If the keywords on your page are natural then you shouldnt have a problem as they have ways of detecting this. Also i have seen a few sites using the "Users forund this page by searching" in a fraudulant way, adding there own keywords to the terms and removing lesser terms from display. 2 Link Spam Though the thought of 1000's of backlinks is desirable, buying theese backlinks wont help your site at all. Most of theese links are irellivent and auto-geenerated page's from whois checkers etc; its always better to build relevent links rather than spam it up with cheap and nasty bulk links. Its clearly visiable in the search engines and it wont help vistitors who will just see the result and pass by to the next one along. 3 Illegal /Frowned Upon Content Though offering you visitors free downloads etc; seems like a good idea to get people rolling in, if the actual owner or a company that represents it stumbles apon the said content they will submit a copyright claim to google and you will penilised and worse you could get a lawsuit too. 4 Content Spam Allthough it may be a time consuming process, you have to check your site daily for spam content on blogs and forums. Adsense will give you a warning to remove spam content from your pages, it may not be your fault but its your responsibility so you have to keep it in check. Viagra is the usual form of spam, along with foreign languages linking to huge pages of link's but now there is more human looking spam but it is still spam and should be removed as it has no relevence to your site and links back to other illegal pages I bet you are thinking 4, JUST 4?? theese are the tip's i swear by and know from my own knowladge and expiriance, i wouldnt tell you anything that i dont actually know about or stick to myself. I rank 4th in goolge for a 195 million keyword with my only functional website so i thought 4 would be the magic number. - Shadyx, http://www.adminforums.org
These are good things to keep in mind, though I would note that link spamming shouldn't harm your SERPS. So buying backlinks won't sandbox you or anything, though organic quality backlinks are typically 100x as effective.
I ment using automatic link building tools that spam whois pages etc; with your link if your buying nice link building packages that would most proberly help you.
It's important not to stuff your articles full of keyword, but sprinkle them throughout your articles over a period of time. They will all add up and help your site rank higher for those keywords without negativily effecting your ranking. God bless, William Veasley
Valid point about the spam comments; I see at least five of them daily on my blog. But easy to eliminate... Thank God for Askimet.
Yes I AGREE.. Many times the Real reason is people are THROWING THOUSANDS of Backlinks especially to say a NEW WEBSITE that's only a day old. Google Sees this & than Naturally what are they to think...."This looks UNNATURAL" & BOOM you look up your site...YOU'VE just been slapped by the HAND OF GOOGLE aka "SANDBOXED"
William knows HIS STUFF... And has SOLIDIFIED the Importance of something so simple yet RESULTS in HUGE RESULTS... If I may add to this William... Dice Kid Link Spam is an Interesting Subject.. The way I go about backlinks is by creating an ARTICLE which I submit to 100 top article directories. than I spin it using TOP SOFTWARE & than submit these again to those same top 100 article directories. It's important to understand as Apocolypse mentioned that We have to AVOID "ABUSING". =) Kindest regards, Steve
Well, in SEO you have to understand that there is NO definite rules to really follow. What works for someone may not be fit for somebody else...aside from the fact that Google and other search engines are always changing their algorithms.
all you need is stay clean and clear. Stay white hat SEO. It maybe slow effect to do those good backlink , but it help you to develop a strong ranking. Black SEO is just provide you a immediate solution but not forever and will affect you to waste even more time and cost for reverse SEO to clear those spam.
These 4 tips are great reminder when it comes to SEO.. I have seen many people fail in SEO because of keyword stuffing and content spam.
Thanks for the tips, i think the link spamming one is interesting, it looks like as back linking becomes more and more important, Google is cracking down on dodgy links
I think the Illegal /Frowned Upon Content is the main one to stay away from. If your violating copyright protected content, google might just delist your site. Not to mention all of the legal stuff that can go along with illegal content. Keep it legal, and play it safe.
