Which database has more demand in market - Oracle or SQL? I want to learn a specific database that's why i am asking it over here.... Pls help
Oracle is a SQL complaint database. SQL is a database standard. Were you inquiring about MySQL v. Oracle or Microsoft's SQL Server? Q...
Same with what Qi said. From a hosting company owner, if you are currently in classes for DBM at a college, if they offer a oracle class, TAKE IT! Oracle is a demanded database system by more extensive users. This market is currently growing fairly quick. So, take it or leave it, if you can offer it and advertise it for your own company or just learning about it, go full ahead in my opinion.
It varies, both have been used heavily in ODS for a long time but historically MS SQL was not seen as great for EDW due to scalability issues. That said, over recent years with the improvements in SSIS and a few other elements MS SQL is starting to make headway into the EDW space for corporate clients. I would guess that Oracle has a higher market share in the corporate world but MS SQL is catching up. In the SME space outside of the web then MS SQL is more common because its bundling with the Small Business Server etc.
Microsoft SQL Server is picking up..... for small application generally people prfers SQL Server while oracle used for larger data bases...
I live in a city where software development is a huge industry and I've noticed more and more ads looking for MSSQL DBA's and architects. Another thing to consider is that MSSQL certs are cheaper than Oracle certs and if youre handy with programming, MSSQL2k8 integrates easily into the .NET 4 framework.
hi, i'm working in oracle at work, i've learned in six months. i think it's good to know how to work also with sql
oracle is product of oracle.com and sql is product of microsoft, I think oracle is more power full and keep more security.
I guess it lots depends up to extensive use and purpose of your requirement...! large companies persist on using Oracle for managing bulky Db's and for managing a mid-size companies they go with SQL. Oracle has fair market and big reputation due to its versatile use
Hi oracle is the best database for large organization and can store more date with a great security having great big featureless but MS SQL server is better for small business requirements.
Oracle => in enterprise My Sql => Free to use and boon for free lancers Need changes for the requirement!!
