The only problems I can think of when trying to earn money with a personal blog is you probably don't want guest posts on a personal blog and SEO won't be optimal because of how general it is. Can you still make money off of one?
Absolutely! Write about your passions and then add related affiliate products. Especially if you do a couple product reviews on your personal blog that lead to an affiliate product. Nothing is impossible.
