Hello, I have a forum with a number of active members and posts. Would it be good for me to link key word phrases from forum posts to pages of my website. I want to boost the search engine position for those words on other pages of my site. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance
its just like a forum sig so there is nothing wrong with that.. but still relevancy and quality link helps..
Google does not have any specific algorithm to find out whether the forum and website is owned by a same person or not. But the thing is that Google have the algorithms to find Spamming, so if you try to increase your website backlinks from your forum in a good manner then it is Okay. But otherwise it may consider as Spamming.
@ OP, I have done the same thing for my website through forum & as expected it helps in both (traffic as well as rankings for those keywords) there is nothing to worry about if you are doing it in a limit, but don't just keep posting link in each and every thread or else it will start looking spammy and both members and search engines will start ignoring those anchor links ...
Beside of simply posting keywords with anchor text then why dont you try posting a banner ad for your own site. Image banner ads are eye catching and will surely help your site's traffic as well.
I think it would help increase your rankings if your forum is related to your website. It also helps if you post quality content and not just drop your links on your posts.
you may do the interlinking but you should care that the interlinked topic is relevant to the target page which you are linking.. and more interlinking may harm the current rankings too.. you should be careful in that case.
What is important is that you have a lot of content that will give your followers keep coming back for more. If your forum is regularly visited, your keywords or site will ranked high. Hope this helps
