Recently i found the tip saying... if we want to start new website, go to justdropped like site and find out recently deleted domain in your niche, choose the domain that was existing on internet for more than year before it got deleted. But i doubt about this top. I want to know what SEO Experts on this forum thinks about this. Does it really affects ranking and traffic of new site? and how much does it affect? Note: Only expert advice please. Dont spoil this thread just for signature.
yes it can be very worthwhile as recently dropped domain names can still carry a lot of backlinks and authority. also, the dropped domain name may contain a keyword you are trying to rank for and give you a quick start in the right direction.
It can, but you really need to know what you're doing. #1 you're going to have to make sure you get proper redirects in place as soon as possible other wise all the links that were already in place are just going to 404's and you'll quickly lose any benefit at all.
Great tip. I was thinking for the same. I think google gives link popularity to each individual link including single .html page, so if the existing links of dropped domain is not properly redirect, you can not get much benefit of it. And another thing i was guessing is, we must choose the domain with highly relevance niche. For example i recently found dropped domain mobilestay . com and it may be used for both mobile related site and staying related site. SO if the dropped domain was for staying related site, new site created on mobile niche can not get much benefit of it as google will surely get to know that some thing is permanantly changed, google can also detect the changes in domain owner and dns lookup. What you think ?
I got one more tip for you. If you need to find best domain i have a tip specially for DP members. You can go to justdroped site and search for the domain you want, use wide search so that you get results in 100s, click on download this result and you will get the list as attached text file in your email. Copy all domain list in excel, use 'text-to-column' feature of excel to differentiate domain names from other data. Now when you ready with a single column in excel containing the domain names, you can short them based on the length of character (to find shortest domain first) or based on extention (to find suitable extention like .com .us etc..). Now copy first few (say 30 domains) and check for their PR and other seo parameters to find the best one. You can use my tip of using seo quake plugin for wordpress to do this. I have posted the tip at http://www.guidetoearnmoney.com/seo...checker-find-google-pr-for-multiple-urls.html, You can easily find ready made domain being droped on next day having google pr 2, 3 or even 5. Tell me did you find this trick useful ??
