I believe you can't, considering the recent facebook case in which FB has filed a complaint against the following domains:

    aboutfacebook.com
    facebookbabes.com
    facebookcheats.com
    facebookclub.com
    facebookdevelopment.com
    facebookfest.com
    facebookintegration.com
    facebookjournal.com
    facebookking.com
    facebookland.com
    facebooksafety.com
    facebookstudio.com
    facebookstuff.com
    freefacebookapps.com
    friendsonfacebook.com
    fundraisingwithfacebook.com
    joinusonfacebook.com
    killfacebook.com
    moneyfromfacebook.com
    moneywithfacebook.com
    newfacebookapplication.com
    Code (markup):
why? because they all have facebook in them, for more information about the same you can visit this page: udrpsearch.com/wipo/d2011-0516

Similarly, hsbc wouldn't be happy to see if you use hsbc in your domain name, hope it answers your question :)

    ok I see

This is strange because what if i use subdomain - that is ok?

What punishment those people who use all those facebook domains can get?

They just take those domains from owners or they have to pay money ?

they might loose there domains & sites ... also, they might have to go through various laws about trademark violation

I have seen many cases where the domains has been canceled and sometimes the domains get transferred to the the other party

You can BUY any domain that isn't already owned by anyone else. Whether you can KEEP it is another story. If you use it in a way that violates someone else's trademark, then there is a very good chance that you will lose the trademark.

Funny domain for an article, seems much more appropriate for a phishing site wouldn't you think? Do you really think ANY bank is going to want some random person having a site with their name and the word login?

Honestly man, this is one stupid thread.

    Yup,
at first sight it seems more of a phishing domain
OP, if you are really interested in writing articles then think about some sensible domains

The biggest problem that you may encounter is that HSBC may confiscate from you your site. You are lucky if they will offer to buy it from you but that happens rarely. If you will pursue this, just pray that you will not get caught.

If the name is trademarked which I'm sure HSBC is, your going to have some issues unless you can somehow prove it's not using just HSBC. For example if your company was HSBCW or something. hsbconlinebanking is asking for trouble.

you will be sued, and/or lose your domain through a UDRP.
