seo for a singular domain as opposed to plural? help please

I have a domain and the plural 's' version is working well, but it does not rank well (or indeed at all) when you search for the singular version of the same word.

    In Google

Can anyone suggest what seo i might do to correct this please.

For example the site is "ibrochures" works very well in a search for "ibrochures" but NOT in a search for "ibrochure"

Is it just a seo issue, do i need to set up a second version of the domain with the singular address (will a redirect of this to the other site help)

I always thought if I set it up for plural the other would follow suit and also work.

    Any ideas appreciated.

I suggest the singular version if you can get it. You should be able to rank for the singular easier that way. Another thing "ibrochures" will not rank as "ibrochure" because the "s" is still part of the word and Google can't see it any other way than with the "s". It's different than if you have rank for a smaller keyword phrase within a long tail phrase.

Another suggestion is to use the singular form on your site as well.

    Hope this helps.

Ok first off, I don't know if you've ever heard of exact match domain. Anyways it is when you type the exact domain name of a website. It is obvious that you will appear for that because it is your domain name, you basically do not need any kind of optimization for that.

eg: If I look for "adidas" on Google, it's obvious that "adidas.com" will be shown to me as a SERP. On the other hand if I look for "running shoes" there is much smaller chances that "adidas.com" will show up because there might be other websites that are fighting for that keyword and since adidas is already a very big company, they do not need to turn to SEO to market their products.

In other words, you will for sure show up in Google results for "ibrochures" because it is your domain name. Try typing keywords related to your business as search queries and see what your results are. You do not need any optimization for exact match domains, you need optimization when you wish to show up high ranked in SERPs for given keywords.

Thanks for the help appreciated. So I should use "ibrochure" and that should rank for both with and without the "s" ?

Plural and singular are 2 diffrent keyphrases

You should build some links for the singular term ..

No, you should optimize for both singular and plural. They are two different words.

Any of the one you can rank well. But if you think on one you are getting good results try another one to redirect to that one. Secondly, target both the words for SEO strategy so you get results for both terms.
