Self-proclaimed SEO experts - eh, shut up

Okay, I've been spending my time here lurking - instead of posting - and quite frankly, as a webmaster, and a content manager, I'm getting really sick and tired of people making the "SEO" business look bad - its growing tiresome - and guess what?

There's no such thing as an "SEO" expert - we're just humans - who learn how to work the system, but guess what? There is no system - its about creating quality content, and generating links towards your site - and if you've been in the SEO business for a while, its quite obvious - this is the truth.

So, instead of calling yourself an "SEO" expert, why don't you just shut up, and stop claiming to be an expert at something - when you're not?

Seriously - stop putting a bad name on the people that just chill, and focus on driving quality content - through the use of SEO/social media - because quite frankly, you're making the whole industry look bad - so, why don't you guys just shut up?

And quite frankly, I think its because Digitalpoint grew too fast - and thus, driving stupid people in, who think they know it all - but guess what?

You SEO newbies, do not know anything about the SEO business - so seriously, just chill out, and quite claiming to be an "SEO expert', when there's no such thing - you learn how to become an SEO person - and that's through motivation, and focusing on something that you know.

SEO is more than just "rankings", its about creating content that'll generate links from others, and plus, quality content makes up for your SEO - and plus, just focus on your content, because the quality of your content, will decide how welll - your SEO rankings.

So, as a webmaster, and someone that has been in the business since 2004 - will all you SEO newbies, just shut up?

Except i have a problem about your content and the phrase Content ... A SEO responsability is not to creat Content for clients site for that there are writers/copywriters and for exemple E commerce/Shops what content To Create ?

In rest i'm also sick and tired of the so called experts
Plus they ruinn the industry with there crap prices
I had many clients expecting SEO for 500$ (because a year ago they hired a seo expert bla bla) ....

Hope this place gets better Shaw should really think to ban India or do something i'm sick and tired of all the morons and so called experts ...

I stopped calling myself an 'SEO Expert' years ago, after realising just how many idiots there are in this game... I am too good at what I do and too honest to be an 'SEO expert'...

That's why you will never see me trawling for work here either as it's kind of expected now on here to pick up an 'SEO expert' for $2 an hour... and secondly, work comes to me... You won't catch me being one of those so called 'seo experts' phoning people to tell them how their site is nowhere to be seen... I have yet to see anyone that impresses me on these forums...

 

First of all, no one is EXPERT in this world. Everyone is learner for the life.

 

There are people on here who haven't learnt the basics calling themselves 'experts'...Yes I agree we will always be learning, but not to the extent of some on here..

 

Man, we all are just learner for the life, in this world, specially in Technology world. What we do learn today, it was invented yesterday. So, just assume how far behind we are in learning.

By this style, aren't you too claiming yourself as an EXPERT indirectly?

There is no valid reason to claim expert in case of SEO atleast.

 

I am with you on this one ! It is a forum and people should learn to talk like a normal human does with another ! Also a trend I have noticed is people asking really foolish questions and that is really frustrating ! We have questions like what is hubpage and what is squidoo and what is hub pages ! MAN ! is google dead or something ! why don't people google for silly things instead of spamming in the forums !

For your kind information, Forum has been developed to answere evrything, Sometimes people cant find sufficient information on certain topic and this becomes foolish to people like you, SEO industry is cool even thought SEO people has been treated like shit!!
So I would say Stop being expert learn and share what you got.

What is wrong if you proclaim yourself as an SEO expert? Is it against the law? Or are we violating something if we use the term SEO expert? Come on!

 

I think what he's talking about is, just in general the fact that those who claim to be an "SEO Expert" don't even know what SEO means or stand for.

You can claim whatever you want to be, just be able to back it up...
