Although i'm sure this topic has been covered before, i was interested in specifics. I know that we can get free traffic by directory submissions, backlinks, social media, off page seo etc, however i'm interested to know about other types of traffic solutions that actually produce results. For example I have heard mixed reports in the past of banner exchange programs, "surf" type programs etc. What methods (besides social media & backlinking) have you used that worked and was the traffic targeted at all?
Can you elaborate more Like how much traffic do you get? What service do you use? How much effort does it require? And does the traffic convert?
I am first time hearing about banner exchange program and autosurf. What is learn by searching on google i found out that. In banner exchange you have to put ads on your site at the ratio of 2:1. It means you have to put 2 banner ads on your website to get 1 banner add.
Autosurf traffic is useless, if you need quality traffic work on your website search engine optimization.
Quick, Free and Easy don't really go together....especially in the world of online marketing. That said, if you have the time, brains, skills and some luck you might be able to put together a viral campaign that could bring in lots of visitors. If you have design skills you could try an info-graph?
I agree with most, if you go into it wanting "quick hits" to your website you will ultimately fail at building a long term traffic plan.
I haven't found any good free traffic sources that converts. I've tried traffic exchanges, text ad exchanges and safelists without much success. So, now I just stick with seo, email marketing, etc.
Cheers, yeah i thought this was the case. I also tried some years ago, wanted to know if there were any new sources these days that i didn't know about, guess not Back to the grind lol.

Less scope for it now days. Almost 50%+ traffics are from either Direct or Google SERP for the most of the site. Addition to it, this more traffic things doesn't help much to eCommerce sites if it cannot bring potential customers.
