How can I block the entire country of India from my site? .htaccess, meta tag? I have heard about blocking IP's and heard there are IP codes for different countries. Some guy from India has copied one of my sites and since India is not part of the DMCA I just want to block the entire country from all my sites. Does anybody know how I can? thanks in advance.
Try MaxMind's GeoIP database: http://www.maxmind.com/app/geoip_country (Free Version) There's also a paid version that is more accurate.
You'll find any attempts to block people from copying your site to be fruitless. Unless you limit access by username/password, anyone with connection to the Internet will be able to copy it. You can easily block an entire country, but if those users from India use a proxy server (located outside of India), they'll have access to your site again. Your better bet is to try and find those copies (of your site), and contact the hosting providers to remove them.
