Hi...I have a client who wants to start a Blog. He has the domain name, the host and the blog set-up. Its brand new, not even one post yet. now here's the story. This guy has been writing and collecting and preparing for this for about 6-8 months. He has over 150 excellent blog posts ready to be posted!...his topic is debt and debt consolidation.

How often should he post and ping his blog. The 150 blog posts are ready to go! This seems weird..but its true! obviously he shouldn't do this all at once!I think he did this because he wasn't too sure about how to set-up and promote his blog, so in the meantime, while he was learning he just wrote a bunch of posts!

Some blog programs would allow him to back date the post to when he actually wrote it.

Though to be honest, what he has really isnt a blog. Its more of a CMS that he needs to run. Blogs are like diaries. Otherwise it comes across as if its been written primarily to have ads on the pages.

Hi..thanks but I don't think that you understand. He has over 150 posts ready to be sumitted and saved on a FLOPPY DISK. He hasn't submitted anything yet. He just opened up a wordpress blog, there is nothing in it yet...now he wants to start submitting his 150 posts! but he can't do it all at once...how many per day should he post?

I think that while he was researching how to set-up a blog and how to promote it, he just started writing and saving posts. so now on a floppy disk, he has all these posts ready, they all have titles and keyword rich topics.

Hmm put up 30 or 40 (to show you have some content)

Then spread the extra 110 or so to 1 every 1 or 2 days to show a continuously updated page...

    That would get googles attentions...

The only problem is if this page is brand new google may not even index it till he's all out of articles (b/c of the domain age factor he'll be stuck in the supplemental results)... He may want to do 1 every 4 days for ever until he notices he's gotten indexed or something... That would be better..

Use the "Post Timestamp" feature in WordPress.

Back date the first 20 or so articles by spreading it out a couple of months. 5 per month would give the impression that the blog started in May 2006.

As for the remaining articles, future date them at two-three articles per week.

If his articles are all original, he should not have a problem with Google indexing them.

Make sure he has his blog optimized before the first one goes out. Include a good ping list and post 1 to 3 times per day if possible. Tell him to categorize DEEP for best results. Cheers.

I wouldn't suggest this as it screws up the pings royally. Take the 10 seconds to log in and post daily, you will be glad you did.

    3 per week??

I would say, post once every day. Meanwhile, in doing so, spread the news around and drive more traffic to your site.

The important thing is, the first post has to be really eye-catching!

3 times daily for the next 50 days. Plus he can start updating now.

Or he can sell some of his contents. If his content is great, I am sure some people wouldn't mind buying.

two posts a day is enough for it to be a good blog, and also have him post it before noon due to people reading the blogs during their lunchbreaks, and such, hope this helps

Whether it's before noon or evening, it depends on the target audience, i.e. you may be in US, but people from UK or Australia might be interested and reading them too.
