I have got a penalty - 50 positions from Top 10 to Top 60. This is characteristic for me because it is not first time. Can You tell me what can I do to avoid this penalty next time, for what can be this penalty ?

It depends upon the various factors.

    Duplicacy
    Spamming
    To hide the links
    Doorway pages

    Duplicacy - good qulity content

Spamming - it can be wrong link building but if yes it is simple way to penalty competition, so I don't think so. Maybe to much links in footer to same pages but in different langueges with uniq content?

To hide the links - No

    Doorway pages - No

When did you notice the penalty? What have you done recently? What have you done different recently?

Maybe you have fallen victim to recent algo changes (Panda update)?

Does google still have your pages indexed in the site: command? If so, you may not have a penalty but just crappy rankings...

Let us know..I'm always interested in penalties as I try to avoid [work around] them.

Might take a bit longer now to rank. I am finding it takes longer than sites I developed last year.

It's because you don't have good ranking factors.

Do you really think that you got penalized? Did you do any blackhat technique?

This could be just what they call "Google Dance". Observe first.

That's the right thing told above, you should avoid or escape yourself from the black hat SEO techniques. It is the possibility that Google caught any point on your site involves in black hat.

Just search out such spam things as content duplicacy, FFA link/adult links/non-relevant links/doorway/hidden text, keywords or content on your site, clear out that, make a fresh xml site map, submit and verify that in Google again. It would take time but your penalty on site would be swipe out completely.

Thanks for answers, So I didn't use any hard black seo techniques. It can be Panda update but I had this same situation with others sites few months ago. I think it can be problem with content. I did site with unique content and then I didn't managed any new content, any changes, just put site in Top 10 and leave - what do you think ?

    Sorry for english

I think you just need some backlinks and more content.

If you aren't doing anything blackhat and you have unique content, everything points to just simply not doing enough for your niche. Do some linkbuilding.

It sound like the google dance to me. I would wait a little bit just to see if it goes up in rankings again. If nothing happens in a couple weeks then check your site. If you are using blackhat techniques then I can't help you and it's your own fault :)

It'd really help if you'd tell us how old the site is.

Check your GWT to see if there are any error messages.

How old is the site? How much content do you have on the site? How much original content do you have on the site?

Google recently made a big update that knocks down sites that have little to no unique content.

Post more original content - write your own articles, post your own images.

update often - at least a few times a week

Post more then 200 or 300 word articles. take the time to write some long articles

    Inter-link between your articles

Use a tag system on your site
