hello, I am using All In One Seo plugin on my blog I need some help regarding keywords from SEO experts Q1: How many Keywords i should add in plugin's keyword field? ( i put around 30-50 in one post...is it ok?) Q2: Should i use Tags for META keywords? Any kind of help will be appreciated Regards, Mightee
as keywords are not really important for searchengine you do not need to think how much you can use, just be natural. you can use tag every post 4 to 5 keywords tag.
30-50??? That is way too much. It's keyword stuffing. You should still use keywords because although Google says they are not reading meta keywords, other engines still are. I am putting keywords all the time on both my blogs and niche sites and I am ranked pretty high for all of them. You should not have more than 4 to 5 keywords in your keyword field. Now keyword can be made out of more words but in totaly you should not have more than 5. For example if you were targeting "how to train your puppy" your keyword field would look something like this: how to train your puppy, puppy training, dog training That is three keywords and it is just enough.
30 - 50 keywords :O !!! That is way to much ! You should use 5 -6 keywords, all being relevant to one another. I would suggest using combinations and/or variations of keywords. You should watch out because that many keywords placed on a single webpage is keyword stuffing and it could get you severely penalized. As for the Meta Keywords, I wouldn't bother with those. They have no ranking weight what so ever. They are a pretty big waste of time. Although minor search engines still use them for rankings (these minor search engines all together represent about 3% of all world wide searches) all major search engine (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc...) completely ignore them. I personally don't even bother including them anymore. Focus on using this time for more important things.
Consider your article length first, the theme will drive you keyword. If you have narrow down a broad article, then consider using phrases rather direct keyword.
Google and other SE don't even bother to read the meta keyword tags anymore so you can stuff them with keywords for all they care. What they do take a look at is the title and description tag and the content of your page. Keep a natural amount of keywords in these places.
