Article posting increase page rank

I have written a couple of articles that were submitted to ezines and goarticles. They have been approved. How long if at all should it take to see any any effects to PR? Is it just as good to have your link posted in your signature on this forum or is that considered a backlink by google?

 

I really wouldn't worry about the PR, it's the backlinks that contain your keywords which is the most important for me. I think you need to have a combination of article submissions, signature links, directory submissions, etc.

Concerning the article submission part, I have been hearing a lot of good about ISnare from the DP forums and am going to give them a try. Seems to make sense because $10.00 gets 5 articles submitted across their network and other sites.

 

Ever since I submitted a couple of my articles to Ezine Articles I've seen a huge increase in bot activity on my site.

I can't be sure that this was the cause of it but it looks promising either way. I'm not that concerned about PR to be honest, I just want all of my pages in the index. That's the important thing to me.

 

So has anyone seen a good increase in traffic from articles? Any increase in SERPS?

 

Hell no. A complete waste of time, IMHO.

I'd rather make a blog post on my own site, submit it to Digg and Reddit than give it away on article directories which bring NO TRAFFIC.
