Was checking out some of the directories in the sig's and was wondering. Why in the world, would you charge someone for a reciprocal link? How can you can charge someone to place a link from their site to yours? I do not understand that. Someone care to explain this.
I don't do it, but I've only seen it on directories that do not offer free options. The reciprocal link option is usually offered at a discount from the regular/premium price. Submitters are given a discount in consideration for the value of a reciprocal link.
Thanks for breaking that down, this may be off topic but do you own the directory in your sig? Even if you do not, I love it, great looking logo and nice clean design also. I'm gonna drop this one a free listing on index-it.net you can view the listing here paid directories Great work.
I could see charging for recip links if the directory's category pages are strong and the recip link is on a weak page. I don't think I would charge for recip though. I'd probably just not offer recip.
We do not offer the reciprocal link option as we see no point to provide that type of service Good luck to those that do but to is not a preferred option for us
Some directories even charge reciprocal links more than regular links. I wonder what the owners think.
I'm going to start charging for links $20/month after the frist 1000 members sign up. My site is entirely unique, since you don't just register your site and get 1 link back. You sign up because it's the alternative to buying some fancy software program to create a link directory on your site. It does that same thing, and it also expedites getting relavant link partners.
