Hi! I have PhotoPlus (not PhotoShop) and need to convert an .ai file to .psd with layers intact. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Converting an Illustrator file to PSD file will lose all vector properties. Are you sure this is something you want to do?

Why don't you check out inkscape? http://inkscape.org/

You will be able to open the Illustrator file and manipulate it as well as save it into various formats.

I've never worked with vector files before - I'm not a graphic designer. :( I don't need for it to be the best quality; I'm just trying out different fonts and sizes and then the designer will finish the work. Not sure I'll know what to do with inkscape - but thank you!

I know PDF to image Converter is specially designed for Mac users to convert their PDF files to several image formats such as JPEG, JPG, TIFF, PNG and more. maybe you free download to have a try.

    Hi,

If you have the latest version of AI (Adobe Illustrator) i.e. CS5 than you can do save as and save it photoshop format with all the layers intact. That way you would be able to edit the text also.

    Thanks

    Hmm..

Than if possible try downloading a trial version of AI which will allow you to use it for 30 days. That might help you converting to psd file. :)
