So here's my predicament- I have absolutely no knowledge about how to make a website. I also have no funds to pay for someone to do it for me. The website is just a small personal webpage about my online poker experiences with quality unique content, with the traffic coming mainly from forums that I'm active in. It's not exactly a big money maker, nor is it really meant to be. The site: http://www.pokermanhattan.com/ I made the site with a free template, filling it in with dreamweaver, as if that isn't obvious. I'm not looking for some kind of flashy, high-tech, interactive site.... I just want it to be aesthetically pleasing, personal, and not, well, embarrassing and empty-looking. If anyone could give me some simple pointers on how to improve the look, or slightly more complicated pointers and the patience to explain to me how to implement it, I would be extremely grateful. It doesn't look that bad, I mean it wont make anyone immediately click back if they are going their for the content. With that said, I would consider increases the font size a bit for a start. 12px is a bit small on most monitors and makes everything feel tiny. Personally though, I would just switch to a wordpress installation. Not only can you find a number of good looking themes, it would probably help your visitors find what they are looking for easier.
Wordpress isn't a magic bullet, but actually the site looks OK now because you kept it clean and simple. Switching to wordspress would make adding new content much quicker, going forward.

But, seriously you should take a look at http://www.wordpress.org It sounds/looks like WordPress should accomplish everything you're interested in doing... there are literally thousands of free pre-made plugins and theme templates for you to use. Actually, most decent web hosts offer quick installs of WordPress from your control panel, too. It's hard to get much simpler.

..for wordpress you can problably find a bunch of free poker related templates, but then again, you can find those that are similar to what you just did, only poker styled. Wordpress is a blog platform, a content publishing tool, not a magic wand, just remember that.
I like the navigation and the simplicity of the website. you are being direct to the point which is good. I dont really see anything wrong, it looks very cool.
If you Switched To Wordpress, then copped a new theme it would be half way decent. Also, With all of those Twitter Followers, You could do a hell of a good job tinkering' with Twitter API. PM me if you are looking to hire someone to overhaul your site. I could see potential with it, new theme, new fonts, new colors, and some new images, and you could really start to see some progress, get some advertisers, and maybe work your way into promotions and self poker advertising. hey u can install preprogrammed cms like wordpress or joomla.. where u can administrate or design ur site without any knowledge of php or html. isnt its cool..?
