    The brits were never wimps to begin with? They have judges that are alot more strict with rules! They have a certain witness number allowed to testify and the jury is always more strict then Americans who have all types of races of people living in America.

    I know, but you have to respect the 1430 meter shot.

    Sorry but we don't have a tolerant attitude towards radicalism, we do however have laws to abide, and in the UK they are strictly followed. Like the USA we have freedom of speech and expression, so we have to be careful what we charge people with.

    1.4 kilometer shot, outstanding. but given that the UK is the home of The National Shooting Centre Bisley, the headquarters of the National Rifle Association (NRA), is the world’s best known and most varied shooting centre. Set in 3000 acres of Surrey heathland some 30 miles from Central London. The combination of the best, most modern, and largest arrangement of shooting facilities in the world with its colonial style clubhouse buildings that date back to its Victorian beginnings give Bisley a unique atmosphere.
    Are you supprised?

    From a military standpoint, considering the history of the SAS, no. Considering your gun laws, yes.

    Our gun laws are strict, i dont think they are strict enough. However The National Shooting Centre at Bisley is where most of the sharpshooters compete, and most are from the armed forces, either serving, or former troops. The long range at Bisley is 1200yards.

    As to our laws, UK cops still do not patrol the UK with guns, we have no need to arm our police full time, because our gun laws limit who can have a gun license. Guns kill people in the wrong hands, and by limiting who can have a gun we limit the number that are used in crimes.
    Hand guns are illegal in the UK only history hand guns and black power mussle loaders can be licnesed, An agreement was made in September 2008 whereby the short-listed British Olympic pistol team for the 2012 Olympics was to be granted tempory permission and licenses for hand guns.

    The UK needs you to prove you NEED a gun before you can get a license. each gun has to be licensed and proof given for each gun for its need. you also have to prove you have secure places to keep the gun and ammo. e.i. a safe fixed to a concrete floor a wall safe, a locked firebox on your desk is not a secure place.
    I think in 50 years we have only had 4 people go nuts with guns here. The Dunblane massacre in 1996 made sure we keep guns safe. it seems this last 2 years 2 nuts have cracked with guns.
    how anyone could kill 5 years olds is beyond me

    Dunblane Victims killed:

    * Victoria Elizabeth Clydesdale, 5
    * Emma Elizabeth Crozier, 5
    * Melissa Helen Currie, 5
    * Charlotte Louise Dunn, 5
    * Kevin Allan Hasell, 5
    * Ross William Irvine, 5
    * David Charles Kerr, 5
    * Mhairi Isabel MacBeath, 5
    * Brett McKinnon, 6
    * Abigail Joanne McLennan, 5
    * Emily Morton, 5
    * Sophie Jane Lockwood North, 5
    * John Petrie, 5
    * Joanna Caroline Ross, 5
    * Hannah Louise Scott, 5
    * Megan Turner, 5
    * Gwen Mayor (school teacher), 45

    I guess that is what I'm getting at. In the US, the right to have a weapon is not predicated on need. If there is a need, it is referred to in the constitution as that of a militia, the existence of which is considered being necessary to the security of a free State.

    that is paranoia, you dont need hand guns for that, you like the UK can have rifles, and hand guns are not used in wars.

    they are british citizens, and allowed the same rights to state benefits and housing as any other british citizen, whats your point?

    it is very difficult for the security services to bug schools, we have a strong child protection laws and you'll find that the BBC sent the film to the police so the people involved can be dealt with.

    Perhaps. If so, our founding fathers must have been very paranoid, though your point about assault rifles is well taken. Reasonably speaking, we the people should have the ability to purchase and own fully automatic assault rifles (which are used in wars) instead of these namby pamby single shot versions with 5 bullet magazines. I'll write our senators if you will :).
