As you guys know, there are a lot of scammers in the world today! I just have one thing to say, its not fair! I have a really good solution for DP business. Let me know what you guys think. I believe that DP should have a system setup and they act like a middle man! They create something where people doing business would have to go through DP to do the business. DP acts like the middle man. Someone submits the work to DP and DP posts the jobs in a job listing that only they can post in. People contact DP to bid on the jobs and the person paying pays the money to DP, then when the work is done to the payers requirements. EXACTLY WHATS POSTED IN THE JOB CONTRACT. They give DP the okay to pay the person who worked. Something in that area would be awesome! It would stop a whole lot of the scams that people are pulling by taking peoples money and running! All that are with me say IIIIIII
Well the problem with that is that DP needs to have volunteers who are willing to be the middle man. We are yet talking about the hours that need to be put into this system, plus the worries of fraud/charge backs. Honestly in my opinion this won't happen at all nor will it go into consideration. At the end of the day it's all up on the two people who do business, it shouldn't include anyone else.
Yeah i guess you are right, just been seeing scam after scam and figured i would try to think of something that would help. Great point though bud.
Scams happen every time and no system is flawless. People just need to get smarter and learn how to deal people. You can usually spot a scam from a distance but I do admit that it's getting a bit harder to tell nowadays.
Yeah its its just pathetic, it makes it harder for the "true" business people to do business in some aspects.
I doubt DP will do that, because it would also require an extra amount of employee staff, payment processor and TIME. That would be the most difficult part on behalf of the people who are the middle men. Sometimes, it really gets worst, while delivering the work or not been completed. Frankly speaking, DP is just a webmaster forum, honey, doing jobs and selling products is just a part of what they are handling and DP doesnot gain anything from this process of sellers and buyers, except new users or premium members
I guess i shouldn't have recommended this, you guys make great facts about this. Kinda feel dumb about posting it now LOL :|
Well, why don't you stop being dumb? Its not hard to protect yourself from stupid scammers - just ignore them, and report them. That's the best thing you can do. You're a new user here, so what are you complaining about? If you get scammed, it means you're a dummy - who derserved to get scammed, since this is the internet - there's tools online to help prevent yourself from getting scammed.
You just described an escrow service, which there already many of. There's absolutely nothing preventing people from using an escrow services already, in fact we always recommend it. If people don't want to use them now, what makes you think they would use a Digital Point branded one? https://escrow.com/
What you're describing is way too restrictive -- 1. Having a moderator read your post (before posting) 2. Moderators deciding whether seller delivered as promised 3. Communicating between both parties 4. Deciding if and when a seller should get paid I wouldn't like it, and could guarantee if such a system were imposed, listing items for sale would not be free. While I'm against any further restrictions, I do have some admiration for the Fiverr system. Sellers can post anything they want, with very little moderation or objection. However, when they make a sale, the clock starts ticking to make sure the item is delivered in promised time. If not, buyer can cancel order without risking any funds. In addition, buyer can create a dispute if item is not as promised. They way they have it set up though, is very automated. It rarely requires "live" Fiverr employees to act as mediator. That works very well for five dollar items, but probably wouldn't be a good system here. But, anyway, no - I don't think DP should change the way they're doing it. If you're looking at a transaction of several hundred dollars, perhaps get an escrow service. Otherwise, use your best judgment, and hope for the best.
Hopefully, no one will think I'm spamming. LOL. But, yes, I'm talking about Fiverr.com - it's kind of a neat site. I've been selling a bit on their lately.
i will have to check it out and thanks for the quick warning in private Rebecca you know what im talkin about LOL
