I'm a music producer that creates and remixes popular youtube videos and songs much like The Gregory Brothers, aka Autotune the news. I'm getting a good amount of views and music downloads from my videos. My top remixes have gotten around 40-60k views. My question is how do I monetize this? I can't get a partnership right now so that's out of the question. I can't legally sell the mp3's so is there another way I can making money from this? I have some potential advertisers that see the value in my product and want to put their website url in the video/remix and maybe have the viewers download the mp3 from their website. If the video goes viral it will mean big traffic for wherever I post the mp3 for free download. The problem is that it's not targeted traffic, it's just simply traffic. My next remix will be a Charlie Sheen remix song that I'll be posting the next week. WINNING! Any ideas on how to monetize this as a business? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Ryan My Youtube Channel is /pianopro11
there are at least a dozen ways to monetize this one thing is to not look at videos as products, they are commodities...YOU become the product. Then you can get sponsorship for your real product -- your brand rather than for one video at a time also, you can merchandise your brand...selling specialty items (like tshirts-coffee mugs) of your brand also, you need your own site, so that you can start owning your fans, instead of youtube owning them once you own them, you can communicate with them and make money a lot easier
Why are you asking us something so dumb? Do you know how to do your research? Type in "Make money from youtube", or "how to monetize youtube", its not that hard man. Youtube = promoting yourself, that means, you can promote your products in the description - which means, the more views, the more possible money you'll make.
I would recommend setting up your website and promoting your content on your website itself - you can earn plenty of revenue from there. Secondly, Youtube has a pretty good program where they place advertisements on your videos, but you need to hit a certain views count before you're eligible for this. This can be another way.
well said. this is the #1 problem with youtube channels did you know that some major name brands are paying upwards of $25K for a branded Youtube channel and they STILL don't own the viewers, youtube does for anyone with a youtube channel, you might want to check out something like sonicplayer.com/wbpackage/ to turn your video on demand content into a live tv channel, which you can require subscription or login access to view, own the viewers, and control the advertising. then just use youtube to drive traffic to your live channel
