Posting too long articles?

So I have started a new blog some months ago (about 2.5 months) and
at first I had big probles reaching 500 words per article, but now I can't
seem to get them under 1000 words. Some articles are on 1500-1700 words long
and it feels like they will only get longer and longer lol...

Anyone else having this problem with not being able to stop writing once you
get started? I wonder where this will end up, I don't wanna post articles on 4000
words in the near future, it will be too much to read for my blog visitors. xD

Anyone knows a good solution to this?
Maybe I should split the posts in to series or do you have any better idea?

It doesnt matter if your post is really interesting. However, i will suggest you re-summarize it after write the article to make it about 1000words because many reader are lazy, they dont like long post unless your post is very interesting

It doesn't really matter. Do you know your audience? Do your readers like to read long posts, or short posts? It all depends on who you're writing to, and also, I believe long posts are better than short ones - because there's nothin like having quality content to for your site.

why don't you split the subject. you're audience might get bored just by looking at it.

People who Google look for "to the point content".So present your articles in such a way that your readers get what they want without wasting much of their time. but be smart you can always interlink your pages ;) Hope you get my point

It is really hard to make a general statement because it depends on the specific post that you have written. Personally, I find it hard sometimes to limit my posts, and they seem endless. At times, I conduct interviews which invariably go long - very long. At these times, it is unavoidable. Sometimes however I can split the article into Part-1 and Part-2 which makes sense.
End of the day, if you can provide value all throughout your article, you should be good with long articles. If it is derivative drivel, it is hard to keep the reader interested till the end.

Personally, I would try to find a way to divide the article in half, so that you have two smaller articles instead of one larger one.

It sounds like you should try e-book writing :D Also split up your blog posts into part 1,2 etc.

people like short summarized articles, I rarely write more than 500 words, most of my articles are 200 - 400 only. You better not to write long articles, people are lazy to read them mostly.

I think it is better to divide your articles into several parts. Or you can make it a series of article on a topic. I know many visitors don't like to read articles that are too long.

Don't post the whole topic. People will get bored on reading your long post even if it's interesting. You may post the continuation later on.
