I have just started my first adwords campaign.. I hope it works out well. I am banking on consumer behaviour.. I hope my experience in offline consumer behaviour works out with Online consumers as well.
OK thanks for the heads up. There are blogs for this type of messages you know. Judging by your handle, you are probably aware of them. Anyway, let us know when you breathe in next. We're on the edge of our seats here.
Going very bad, very very bad.. Doing a lot of tweaking... Day 1 spent 20 dollars, earned 16.xx dollars Day 2 spent 20 dollars, earned 18.xx dollars I just paused the campaign.. Hadn't much time... Keywords need very very thorough research.. Learning, you never know when Google will smart price. There were large number of .01 dollar clicks though some clicks were good. The .01 clicks wiped out the profits. I was paying close to 10 cents a keyword.. Couldn't find too many .01 keywords
I don't think it is too bad. I advertised more than one week on Google without earning anything at all.
Thats good tough, just keep on man. There are a lot of factors involved in your conversions, just try different wordings in your ads trying to filter out the non converting visitors, try different landings and different color shemes, different wording on landing and much much more. Its not bad at all to spend 20 and earn 16 dude, that means you are absolutely on the right track! Campaigns that convert from day 1 like yours, and you are an beginner with your first campaign, are exactly the campaigns that make most times a lot of profitsl, just keep spending hours of reading forums like this and all you can find about ppc, reflect this info on your campaigns, decide what is true and what is not and you soon enough will making an profit. after you make profit, analyze why you are making it and keep on optimizing your campaigns and all possibilities that are involved in the sales process, you are definetly on the the right way.
I don't think your Google campaigns are going bad for a beginner either. You were close to breaking even, only losing $6.00. I have lost many more times than that when starting out on new campaigns. Just keep tweeking your cpc, keywords, and ad campaigns and I am sure that it will work out well for you over time. I have one page of my site Internet Security 101 that I'm making a 50% profit using Google Adwords to promote it and Google Adsense to monetize. Best of luck.
Learning things make you rich and rich daily ... small advice try to tweak your keywords and ads..just try to bring in only the clicks from those who will be interested in your product
Hi Brilliance, I was just trying to get Clicks , what we call arbitrage.. Most of the sites are content sites . No products, but not scrapped content either. I am just experimenting if my Marketing concepts hold good here... You know selling beer to napkin buyer and suchlike.. Call it arbitrage. It is more an experiment for something I have in mind.
And dear all, the replies have been very helpful and inspiring. I thought people makes tons by using adword .... Was busy over the weekend so i had paused the campaign. I will do a thorough analysis and continue. WIll put up more sites too
Well believe that you should any day bank on your consumer behaviour based on your search campaign as this he would be in a free environment with no physcial source to mointor his online behaviour
Tip: Try different Texts on your sites over a week and look at your actual ecpm at adsense, with tweaking i have sites since three months on over $130 ecpm and i earn on 90% of my clicks more than .80-1.20
I would even try using "Winning Results with Google AdWords" by Andrew Goodman. I have been using Google AdWords for the last 5 years and learned a few new things from the book. It can be tricky at first. Getting a good AdWords campaign going takes a lot of time making sure you are targetting the right keywords and the right ad content can make all the difference. Try researching keyword variations. You can get several lesser keywords and generate the same traffic for a larger keywords for a lot less money. https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
haha.. not really an arbitrage if you're losing money It's really just a normal business model. Buy traffic, sell ads, and try to make sure you make more from selling the ads, than buying the traffic. Selling beer to a napkin buyer. That's called cross selling. What about selling beer to a beer buyer? If your ads were cheaper than the adsense on your landing page, that would be more closer to arbitrage.
I am just starting ..Arbitrage was what I had in Mind... untill they smart priced me. I was referring to consumer behaviour.. Didn't mean to say that selling beer to napkin buyer was Arbitrage,... I used the word arbitrage since I had nothing to sell on my site. It was not in the true sense.. I am not at looking at selling beer to beer buyer.. Isn't that what everybody is doing? Like I said I was experimenting....
