I've been told by several people that content and links are the most important for SEO. I've been told that 3 blog posts a week is ideal. I see a lot of people following rule that but some of the blogs they are posting aren't very good. A lot of the posts I see I click off immediately and I assume many others do the same. Since google keeps track of how long visitors remain on a site and consider a lot of people clicking off right away a bad thing, is it better to post 3 mediocre blog posts a week anyways? Or is it better to take longer and produce quality blog posts that people will be interested in reading, that keep them on your page longer and will possibly share with friends?
indeed content is important but the importance of it relies on how good it could be,it should be interesting enough to keep people stay longer.

You got a valid point. Its not how many posts you write but whats the quality of the posts you are writing. Your posts should make the people to sit and read for a certain period of time instead of visiting and moving away quickly. So work on writing quality content instead of the number of postings

How about you post 1 quality and then support it with 3 mediocre articles that you circulate... promoting main quality article?

its better to update your blog in regular basis, my blog is too often to update because I'm very busy most of the time I didn't manage to build links in it anymore but still getting traffic, I think it would perform better if you regularly update your blog content and links...
1 big post and 2 small post then continue with 1 big post and 2 small post again . So you able to remain your reader that wont boring with the similar topic for too long time. A big post must be a good content and much more interesting and maybe need something surprise or new to the reader. One week one or two new blog update would be more than enough if your blog post are quality content.
