Important Update from Paypal for PayPal India Users : Change in User Agreement

Yes,We(Indians) are getting conversion rates very low during transfer and the conversion rate is decreasing day by day.

 

I got notification again today when I logged in. But Still was able to send money via PayPal balance!!

 

I too go the notification again tonight,,but was able to send and recieve money

 

If it helps, surely we'll contribute... lol...

 

Did anyone tried to pay money by invoice to Hostgator with money received after March 1st (unverified paypal account) ?
Does anybody knows any countries that have some limits (other then 0$) for receiving/sending money with unverified paypal accounts?

"Hello my name is Rene, and I will be happy to assist you with your
question regarding how to receive money and make payments.

I understand your situation and I inform you that intentionally keeping
an account balance for more than 7 days is against the PayPal User
Agreement for customers in India. We monitor all accounts for misuse,
which could result in account restrictions. Please do not keep an
account balance. We are making changes to our website that soon will
automatically transfer your account balance to your linked bank account.

In short, when you receive money in your PayPal account, use it within 7
days to avoid any restrictions in you account.

Don't forget, we're always around if you need us. Just click "Help" in
the top right corner of any PayPal page to visit our improved Help
Center."

Does it mean that we can receive and send money within 7 days ??? in next few days, weeks or hours ...

 

Yes again it showing notification...hope after 31st March we will get some clear information regarding these changes...

 

Damn! getting the notification again! I thought that paypal might have sorted out the issues with RBI, but no!

 

yesterday i clear my hosting dues.

I really dont believe this! Just now wikileaks leaked an information that some political leaders were given 40 crores of bribe just to support government in nuclear deals with US.
This government is eating us up! I guess this paypal problem thing is only because of this BS government and its policies.

Its not over

1. Paypal has not yet implemented these polices strictly since it requires significant coding and site wide changes to automatically withdraw the paypal balance to banks for indian paypal users. And to restrict paypal indian balance to be used for services/payment

2. I believe as we speak, a bunch of programmers from paypal are developing this mechanism so that the policies are employed strictly and is applicable only for INDIAN paypal users

3. The strict implementation may take a month to happen.

4. Till then to satisfy RBI/Indian regulators they are just giving notice to users at login about the new policies and rules and advising us to follow them

 

I agree 100 % with that article and that has been my thoughts for some time now. The tax that the common man pays to the government is for the infrastructure, job opportunities and umpteen things that the govt provides for the common man.

In the case of Internet marketing / Freelance Programming , the government has very little part to play in the process. The only thing the government provides is Internet connectivity and Electricity for which we pay the bills and the service taxes associated with it. Imagine, one can use the internet to simply watch porn & whack oneself or use his skills, ingenuity to earn & bring much needed foreign exchange in to the country.

I think, it is high time the government and the regulators stop hindering small time freelancers and internet marketers and should start supporting them by easing the process of getting their money, and should also reduce / abolish the taxes. The taxes should not be more than 10% for internet marketers / Freelancers!!
