I run a website with 50,000 visitors a month, but make almost nothing from it. http://www.topacousticsongs.com I've seen ads on many sites and want to know what the best way to monetize this site will be. My googleads are weak sauce - like 10 bucks a month if that. - I"m semi-familiar with clickbank/commission junction. I don't know if this would be the best - Are most ads I see PPA ads or PPC ads or what? Cuz I thought people stopped paying monthly fees just to post on a website, but if people still do that, I need to know how to connect with them. Other ideas?
Join affiliate networks... they have their own user interface to monotize the performance of your ads. Commission Junction, Click Bank, Pepper Jam etc. are some of the best affiliate networks. Also create an advertise page on your website. Post the types of ads you offer and their prices. Improve your pagerank & backlinks. Eventhough you get 50k visitors every month your pagerank is just 1 & your backlinks in yahoo are just 532. This is the quality criteria for a website to maintain. All the best!
AFAICS you're offering cheap promotion to new artists who don't have much money. In your shoes I would be thinking about how to expand upwards and get more revenue from your clients, or maybe from agents and record labels. Are there any ways that you can offer more value in return for more revenue? Can you formalise your role as a talent scout and get more revenue that way? What happens if an artist you promoted becomes more successful? Is there any way you can capitalise on that? Your Google Adsense ads probably aren't working because they are not remotely targeted to your audience. Affiliate marketing is definitely a good way to get more targeted promotions, eg you could sign up as an Amazon Associate and link to the music category. You could also do more with networking on YouTube. Your channel there only has 4 subscribers ATM. It won't generate direct revenue, though.
I agree with the above posts. You could also have sponsors who pay you each month to have a small ad on your site.
Strategy to take probably would depend on your site type. One option is to consider a good ad network. Here is a small list if you need webcosmoforums.com/make-money-online/12584-list-ad-networks-affiliate-programs.html Along with selling ad spots you could sell inline ads using infoLinks and such. Also using related affiliates could be a big source.
Build a list and email then regularly with related free content. Then after you build up trust you can pitch them a product or service.
Try creating an online store that sells music and instrument products. You can sign up for Amazon Affiliate Program and earn money
You can experiment with different advertising models before you can come to a conclusion on what works for you at the best. Try google ads, affiliate programs, banner ads, etc also monetize your ads. If you experiment for a month or so you will get a basic understanding on what you should do further
get an account with hxxps://projectwonderful.com (xx=tt) and set up your advertising budget to $10/day or even more, if your site delivers, you can get even more per day.
1. Join affiliate networks 2. Try to get people to advertise on your website (banners, links etc.) who will pay the amount you want. 3. Maybe you haven't optimized your adsense? You also can try that!
I would offer services to these artists i.e. website building, facebook group pages etc. then outsource the work. If they have little money I would offer a website at cost price then charge a monthly fee for hosting and maintenance keeping control of ownership until they buy you out if they want full control in the future.Start buy offering a very basic cheap package with upsells for each extra page, each extra email address, special banner designs etc this could bring in a great monthly residual income. If they want complete ownership from the start you couls offer them a price and also cash in on hosting affiliate commissions. I would make sure I captured the sign ups to promote further SEO work to them ie video marketing etc. Even have people opting in to get the full price list at the beginning to keep promoting to them. If this is too much for you, let someone else do it all and just split the profits. I am sure there are many eager people here. Just a thought.
try to find private advertisers who will pay you for displaying their banners on your site, other than that you can sign up with CPM networks, your site is an entertainment site, so can't earn much with adsense.
Add a couple of clickbank products thats related to your niche. Also I see you have a newsletter sign up form which is good. But you should take alook at a piece of Software Called POPUP Domination This will shoot your optins threw the roof.
Hey I really appreciate the tips. I'm gonna send some quick PMs for more info, but any tips specifically on how to get private advertisers to display their ads? Maybe I am just naive, but I thought nowadays, almost everything is pay per action, or at minimum pay per click. Also, clarify for me CPA network vs CPM network - what do these acronyms stand for?
