What exactly is there on your site?

300-500 MB for a text-only site which 2K seems strange.

Check your access logs and see how often spiders are crawling. Then after that check your FTP logs. I had an issue like this one time b/c I had allowed anonymous ftp and my bandwidth was being used by torrents to transfer videos and music

Check access logs. If you're using cPanel you can see more detailed stuff in awstats. Drop me a PM if you need help.

    Yes, plugins matter a lot.
If you have plugins that has to load for every time a visitor browses a new page on your site it will consume a lot of bandwidth.

Another possibility is that there is a rogue bot that is continuously hitting your site and consuming tons of bandwidth.

Only after looking at the access logs of your site can one tell what exactly is the issue.

Check if an particular IP is consuming a lot of bandwidth.

Maybe the wp code is cluttered or you need to compress your files.

Try to remove some plugins and/or clean some script. You might consume lot of bandwidth if your site uses too much scripts loaded all the time.
