How Can I Tell if My Order Confirmation Emails are Being Sent to Spam?

    Hi,

I run an ecommerce website using joomla/virtuemart, and when a customer places an order on my website, two emails are sent: selling details, and shipping info. Every now and then a customer will complain to me for one of the following problems:

    1. They will not get the selling details or shipping info email, and I respond back by using an email registered to the domain name of the business. However, I don't know if my customer will even get that email because what if it is also sent to spam? How would I be able to communicate with them?
    2. They get the selling details but not the shipping info email, in which case I email them back and let them know to check their spam/junk folders, and they usually respond back.

I noticed most of these come from Gmail addresses, however, some people with Gmail get the email, but others don't. The selling details email is sent by an email ending with our domain name (@domain.com) and the shipping info email is sent by the webhost nameserver address for some reason. I would fix it myself but am not really experienced in this matter, if anyone has any suggestions please let me know, I am willing to pay to get it resolved, thank you.

My idea will still require someone with technical skills to implement, but what you could do is put an image on the emails (like your logo) but the trick is to have the image pulled from your web server via server scripting language that then updates a database (or emails you) letting you know a message was actually "viewed".
This would work because the only way the image would appear in the customer email is if they actually are viewing it...

Just try it yourself with test orders under your own Gmail accountname.

Actually the logo does show and it would be viable to try this message if I could track it, but what I did is change the email that the emails were being sent from. Hopefully this will work as it didn't work with my Gmail but it worked with a friend of mines Gmail account.
