I just finished reviewing the submitted link to my Fertility Treatment directory. and for a week I had 27 submissions (may be for 5 days) All the submitted links are for non related sites. Yesterday I reviewed a directory that is about Dermatology doctors had about 30 submissions and only one is a valid Dermatologist All the remaining sites are useless.. Both directories are Free How are the other directory owners handling this? Do making the directories paid only do any good?
Not related, it's deleted immediately. Period, end of story. The good thing is that the link text usually gives them away and there's no need to even look at the actual submission or site.
First you need to get better spam filters. Having good filters will make all the difference as for example in our case: 70% of submitted sites to our directory blocked at the source 20% never see editors desk and are rejected and sent back for resubmission and only 10% of sites come up to Editors for review. In our case it makes 900 deleted sites of every 1,000 before Editors see 100 and sometimes even less and in your case it could be 3 sites only. fastreplies
It is true that those that pay for inclusion will read the submission guidelines and submit erudite Titles and Descriptions, whether the actual content of their site is superior is up for debate.
Wishful thinking. We reject on average 3 of every 10 paid submissions because fucking idiots believe that their money can buy review of spam they have had submitted using submission tools and ignoring Submission Guidelines all together. fastreplies
