When are you gonna get rid of RU from filesonic to filesonic? The only people who use this are the ones stealing FS links and spamming it on various forums. A few of the forums that I post on are again contemplating banning filesonic because of the constant repost spamming.

 

^ That may be true but it's not like you're ripping the file yourself, we're all stealing it from some place or another without having the rights to it. Aslong as Filesonic is getting their premium fees

If they ban filesonic links from a site. I'm sure people would just find 1 of the other hundered sites available for links.

Because there is too many of them. And they always come back even if you ban them. So it's easier for forum owners to ban FileSonic than to ban tens of spammers everyday. Majority of FileSonic posters on forums nowadays are doing this and that's why FileSonic is getting bad reputation. By allowing internal RU Filesonic are encouraging this kind of behavior. Stealing others' links and reposting them is right now main method that FileSonic affiliates use. You can even find a lot of e-books for newbies all over the internet that suggest "make mad money by stealing others' links and spamming the shit out of forums". When average FileSonic spammer want to change to another host he always asks: is RU from Oron to Oron allowed, is RU from Fileserve to Fileserve allowed? Because that's the only way his lazy ass is able to work. FileSonic will probably be banned on some forums because of this, but much bigger damage they will suffer because more and more quality uploaders with original premium content will move to another network that protects their work better, because thay can't stand to see how their uploads are being leeched to another accounts and reposted minutes after they were originally posted.

No, they won't. Of course, experienced uploaders know how to leech others' files without internal RU, but majority of these spammers are too stupid and lazy to do anything harder then remotely upload files from FS to FS with just one click. Other ways take more time to transload one file, they also take maybe some premium accounts on other hosts that these spammers don't have, etc. That is too much for them, that's why this internal RU option is so important to these people. Steal hundreds of someone else's files with just one click, how handy! Don't need time, don't need money, nothing. If FileSonic disabled this option you will see that big majority of today's spammers and leechers will stop doing that.

few days back 2 posters copied 2 of my megathreads , all 10k links in one go , i was getting 7-8 sales per day now just 0 or 1 per day but this is how it is
as per staff they are not going to block this so no point in making these posts, this way more people will know and we might not get that even 1 sale , i have accepted it .. had to .. no other choice

if the mega you created was rar password protected with your uploader-nickname, it wouldn't have got stolen

I agreed with you!!!!!! About 6 month before i post like 6 HQ post per day & got 2 to 5 in regularity Butt now i post 40+ per day & get that much sales so its all about copy the same contact butt i'm still happy bcoz even i'm also using RU

So from my side this is all about hard work now days .

Things you can do to prevent abusing fs to fs remote upload to some extent is as follows,

1) Password protect rar files with forum user name or your site url and provide this info in filesonic description page, also try to include some text files inside rar file mentioning your site or thread etc.

2) Another method is more aggressive one but you can do this if this fs to fs ru is affecting a lot. Password protect filesonic links with filesonic password feature and dont mirror these on other hosting sites particularly those which have not banned filesonic IP ranges ex: megaupload, rapidshare, fileserve (though they have put some restriction to ru)

Mirroring to filesonic banned hosts no prob ex: oron, filefactory etc

Filesonic will not likely stop this service as its their business model to spread their links to wider range to get as much sales. and they don't care if sales is coming from original uploader or from leecher.

also low web upload speed.
last week i have 5 - 8MB/s each file on webupload, today 500kb - 2MB/s

that sucks

 

How do you guys get good upload speed? I use Filezilla and have tried others and i only get 54/kbs

 

upload speed is extreme slow atm.
i hope its only maintrance work and not a bigger problem.
my uploaded files on ftp are still pending since 5 hours.
