Profile Backlinks ? are they that effective now ?

Hi,

I was just wondering that whether profile type backlinks are really effective now ?

I heard that google is not taking these links as before ...

I even observed drastic decrease in pr of angela's and paul websites as well

Does google penalise for using these ?

Please let me know some on this

 

As far as I know they are still effective, but with anything else, once is becomes overly used by so many marketers it becomes diluted. I really focus on getting a diverse backlinks portfolio which includes blogs, article directories,profile links, web 2.0 sites, press releases...etc

 

I never really thought the value in profile links were very high to begin with. I still always add it because a backlink is a backlink, but I don't think it does much as far as SEO goes.

 

Yes, profile links are always effective & these helps to get backlinks. Google count it as backlink.

 

Diversity. Get a wide range of different kinds of links including profile links.

 

Its effective but you dont only depend on profile links.

 

Effective of profile link is depend upon how much genuine is website. If website is popular and authentic profile back link will be effective and vice versa.

 

Right now I dont think so profile link building have much effective as it was in 2008,But its a part of seo so you must have to done this.

you are saying that profile backlinks can be a big help for ranking yet in the other breath you say is not effective? its either one or the other.

short term they are good for ranking your site but longer term I would move to more perm solutions.

 

Profile backlinks are not very effective as they come from pages with little content, they tak a long time to get indexed and you need a hell lot of them to make it work. You can use them as an additional link building method but I wouldn't rely on them as a basic strategy.

It counted as a backlink, effective? as long as you can put your keyword on it, I think yes

 

I believe that those type of links aren't strong enough but still, a link is a link. And I still pormote my sites thru profile links as an additional link source though
