Hi, I want to buy laptop, Please suggest me which one is better, DELL or HP? DELL Inspiron 5010 HP Pro Book i3 or i5? Thanks
I would stay away from Dell, the people I know that have Dell are always having problems and their support isn't too helpful
Opinions are different in this discussion and it's nothing strange. I mean, that you and only you can decide what to buy according to your requirements and goals.
I was actually shopping for a laptop recently as well and I found that you get more bang-for-your-buck with HP. However, I feel that Dell builds more solid computers.
Buy HP laptopn, i5 is alot better than i3, dell is good but compared to HP it's better to buy HP. why not go for i7??
I will also prefer Dell over HP. i3 processor with 4 GB RAM is very good.. but if your budget is good go for i5.
I use Asus. This is the only brand which give 2 years international warranty. There is not vaster difference between i3 and i5. I think you should pay more attention on hard disk and RAM. I use Asus with 4Gb DDR3 RAM and 500Gb HD.
I second that I used to have a Sony Vaio but when I had it for 3 years it just grinded to a halt and nothing worked, bought myself a Dell and never looked back. Plus if it gets a little slow I can upgrade it easily.
I have bought many Dell and HP PC's in the past and generally happy with all of them. Good thing about Dell is that they keep all details of your PC available online - so if you need updates / driver changes anytime in the future, it's very easy. But that doesn't happen so much nowadays - most updates seem to be MS W7, Adobe Flash and Skype fighting each other. And Dell upgrades are pretty expensive. HP initially offer better value for money here in the UK - but rapid changes to model types leave me with zero support if anything goes wrong or doesn't work properly. That's probably why more Companies I visit (including Motorola) use all Dell rather than HP PC's My latest HP laptop has constant problems with headphones not working properly - needing a reboot when the sound suddenly changes back to the internal speaker. Doesn't seem much - but a real pain if I want to listen to something on the move. Sound controlled by Windows, but must have some interaction with the HP hardware. So my suggestion would be to consider how much hassle you will get is something goes wrong, and how easy it will be for you to get it fixed
I would get HP over Dell, one friend of mine with a Dell has few buttons broken on his keyboard and the grey paint on it has erased and his laptop is white on some parts ) I personally have an ASUS for 3-4 years but I have some problems with power cord and overheating so I don't recommend this one either.
Best is Dell, I have lot of friends who use Dell notebooks, they rarely got problems, but with HP many people I know got screwed. go for >> i5
