Can we sell e-book inside ebay?

Yesterday, when I was performed my search and I noticed that no one is selling ebook anymore, just wonder are we allow to sell ebook in ebay? Any idea? Please help. Thanks

according to ebay policy, ebooks are no longer allowed to be sold on ebay. but there is a legitimate way to sell your ebook on ebay. Transfer your ebook to cd and you can list them on ebay without any restrictions.

 

There is no such hard and fast rule, that you cannot sell ebook on ebay. It depends on what kind of ebook you wanna sell and how did you search for an ebook on ebay ?
Many of them are still selling ebooks on ebay and no one has taken any objection yet. If you are finding difficult to sell, then try doing some viral marketing techniques to sell your ebooks. Also you can sell your ebooks here on DP in the buy, sell, trade section.

yes, I still see many eBook listing on eBay, but they are all use CD's as a medium to sell them.
when you sell the eBook using CD, you will have those postage tracking no and you can use them to get "seller protection program". Its important to have those protection program if you are serious in eBay business.

As stated by others, you can sell ebooks on eBay, but ONLY if you provide them on CDs. NO digital downloads are allowed at all.

Another way is finding a cheap but professional service (there's many online) and printing the ebook. Selling a physical printed book could also fetch a lot more higher bids.

Why don't you throw up a squeeze page? your own site would be the most profitable place if your eBooks are of quality.

Well, its both good & bad idea

Good: if you know how to promote the squeeze page or else it will be total waste of money which you spend on domain & hosting
Bad: why not sell it on other platforms, ebay is not the end, there are multiple buyers/sellers platforms like ebay all over the web

 

There is no rule like this on ebay. You can sell everything there even a pencil, car, bike, or glass. You can also sell digital products like ebook , softwares etc.

You are not permitted to sell "ebooks" on eBay as such. Digital products or not.

The only way selling "ebooks" is permitted on eBay is if you deliver it on CD or DVD to your buyer.

No digital downloads are allowed.

You can try it . . . but you will be blocked when eBay discover what you are doing.

There are plenty of "ebook on cd" to be found on eBay. Try a search.

 

But I talked to the customer care at ebay and they said they you can sell digital product. I have also sold 2 products and I even did not get any warning.

You can still sell intangible goods on e-bay, but policies have changed. In most cases with ebook downloads you have to list it as a classified ad for information products.

 

Although it's not allowed, but a lot of people still sell ebook in ebay even today. I don't know whether they'll send physical CD or not, but usually people sell ebook only to get feedback score, so I knew.

 

I got a promo phone call from eBay the other day and one of the key things the rep mentioned was that in July and in most circumstances, the final value fees will also be based on shipping fees. If eBay is phasing out digital downloads in favor of physical shipping, ie; cd shipping, this ensures them those extra cents on the final value fees. It certainly appears all digital downloads are being phased out for this reason. Increased earnings for eBay.
