I got some advice and tips from other guys about my story but i want to know more advice from you guys to help me out on my story..so read it below.. When this big algorithm took place in this week time, I checked out that plenty of big article directories and so on are big time hit reduced their 50% of traffic and 50% of traffic is very huge.. Ok..I agree people submitted the duplicate content in the ezinearticle and that is the reason Google slapped the ezinearticles and some other popular article directories... But I don’t understand why this happen to my very good website which I don’t have anything duplicate content and it is a regular every day updated content niche blog and I got more than 50% of dropped traffic in this week’s time..and I am going mad what to do. Because everything are unique and regular updated blog.. What makes me mad more that I have a website which is a blogger blog..see it is a bloggers blog and in that 70%of the content is duplicate content..and guess what nothing changed at all my traffic is same as it was before Google Algorithms change and what I am seeing is my traffic is increasing more..lol. I believe there is something wrong going on with Google because unique content cannot be slapped at all as I maintain the website and I have around more than 600 content on cell phone niche in local country I really don’t understand at all what is happening and what to do in future...cause I want my traffic back and no idea is coming in my mind what to do.. So guys do you think duplicate content is better or unique content based on my story.. What Google really want...
As you said your old blog have no effect, then might be update is still going and they may reach at second one?
Why don't you build links and understand that seo takes time? Great websites take time - same with SEO. Rome wasn't built in a day, so you expect your SEO results to come quick do you?
The answer is easy, people at google is love blogger and hate article directories. If you hate it don't rant around, build a search engine. It's not that hard.
Panda update is not that easy I have an article on my blog gogi . in The real problem is that your content may be used by many sites they can get that data from your rss feed and its a matter of chance which gets indexed first your blog or the spam site with the same content that you wrote..
Google knows what they are doing, it is actually a great move for them to make it fair for many sites that has legitimate contents but not gaining because there are auto bloggers article directories or any site that steal content and getting indexed first..
As with all updates, things are bound to go wrong and Google usually gets around to addressing these. There's a thread specially dedicated to those legitimate sites that have been hit with the Panda update on Google Webmaster. Post your beefs there.
Get some fresh content up there and some fresh inbound links...Hit up that Webmaster forum if you have real beef, but I suspect all you need is some quality backlinks and actual content...
Well, there are many factor that affecting the traffic, and content is just one of the factor. Let's ask yourself whether your website and blog are totally same ( backlink, on page seo etc). Those different might be the main reason that affect your traffic. Many people are found this issue but they forgot that blogger have very good onpage seo since it owned by google, you gotta ensure you are doing onpage seo for your website before compare your website and blog
It is really frustrating when the Google algorithm changes and it negatively affects what you've worked really hard on achieving. I've read that removing low quality content from affected sites can help. I've been keeping an eye on the this Google Webmaster Central thread that discusses the recent algorithm change.
A lot of small search engines have been thinking like you are and what do you see or hear about them? NOTHING! One of these days another search engine will come and will cause Google getting in some trouble but when that will happen, only the Lord knows. Right now Google is the God of the internet and sets the rules as they want and you have two choices: Stick to their rules or leave it.
Suppose website A has unique content and there is another website B (blogspot blog) who copies unique content of website A. However website B gets crawled first before website A. The who is at loss? website A or Website B. The google content algo update seems to be functioning in a wrong way for websites who spend a lot on their content writes for posting unique content. Google discovers content only when it crawls it. In this case website B (Copier) becomes the actual content holder. For such copy/paste , website google recomends use of DMCA. ANd on the other hand it makes you suffer for writing original content (just because you are not the first one to get crawled for your original content). When you check the exact phrase command in google. Webite B appears on the top when compared to Website A. How fair is this content game???????
You sound like one of the many webmasters here on DP that gets too much of your traffic from Google.........thats too bad. I've been warning webmasters here for years to diversify their traffic and stop relying on Google but most won't listen...........but then they cry and complain and start threads just like this when suddenly Google knocks their traffic down by 50%. When you put all your traffic into the hands of one company don't complain when they knock down your ranking, since they control all your traffic. I don't really have much of an answer, because only Google knows why they hit your site and they probably won't tell you. That truth is that many good sites got hit by this update and THIS IS WHY I've been warning webmaster to stop placing all their traffic eggs in the Google basket.
This is wishful thinking; a pipe dream. Starting a new search engine costs a lot of money and even if you have the funds the chances of you competing with Google is very unlikely. The wisest thing for webmasters to do is diversify their traffic and cut down on the percentage of traffic they get from Google. I would advice anyone here who gets 50% or more Google traffic to start driving traffic their sites from other sources, including directories, banner advertising, more backlinks, social media, I've done it and it works. Google only sends about 20 or 30% of my traffic, and I plan on keeping it that way.
Google have and always will be crazy, but what can you do. It is one of the main reasons why so many people diversify their online portforios, so that when one website goes down a little, there are more to take up some of the slack.
google is always been crazy. its no surprise. its kinda unpredictable and suddenly youre up there and then your here punished the next day.
