Is this the Google Panda / farmer update hitting me??

    Hi...
    My site is dropping traffic..
Was very stable for several years, about 15000 visits per week...
Sinds end of januari this year it started dropping, still getting less each week..
Currently only 7000 visits per week left...

    Please see stats image: stats.jpg

I don't think it's Panda / farmers update, as it begun much earlier then end februari.
And the site is in Netherlands.. As far as I know the Panda update was rolled out in US end februari, rest of world later...

Is this Panda, or something else?
    Any suggestions are highly appreciated!

Did your site also dropped in the SERPs?

You already answered your question. It's not related to an update of google.

Check to see where you are ranking for your keywords. If you rank lower than before then maybe.

    thanks for your replies.
-still 10.000 pages indexed ( for years now )
-still top 10 rankings for lots of words i checked
it really is a mistery to me, as i am not monitoring keyword ranking positions of these thousands of words / pages
i don't have a clue why the site has dropped 50% traffic in couple of months
btw i even don't think my site has low quality content
it's a site like yellow pages for netherlands
content is user submitted over the years by businesses..

i want my traffic back but as long as i don't know what's broken i can't fix it...
any suggestions for where to look woyld be highly appreciated
    thanks again!

Google seems to be moving increasingly into the local directory market. They want to be the place that supplies the content rather than the sites that worked for years to put it together for them. One recent change I have noticed is the number of google local results being shown for many searches, often as many as 10 before the organic results.

    hi dvduval
    thanks for your reply..
i mentioned this too, but thought that happened beginning of 2010..
did not mention an increase in local listings since jan in google search results..
but i think you have to be right and that this has to be the main reason..
going to test this by checking top 50 traffic driving keywords for oct / nov / dec and see if there are a lot of google local listings in them and how my pages perform now...
i guess that this means i am out of business with my local directory of quality content unless i manage to hit the first position of the serps with most pages of my site (for as long as google shows a regular listing above its local listing in serps)
this sucks as i was making a living from this website and income dropped even more..
i'll update you guys on my findings..

It looks like you were downtrending before the update. What niche are you in? I read that some niches had massive shifts in traffic.

    >No it's not my niche..My site is a general business directory, not on a specific niche.
    >No it's not my content, cause my site only has quality content..

Seems to me dvduval is right..
Google is bringing in more local results on top of the SERPs, this pushes my directory and others to the bottom of the first page of organic results..
I'm analyzing this and everything points in this direction.

Well, that's your answer right there - your site is a directory, that means, get more links to you.
