Hi Everyone: I have been doing internet marketing for many years, 13 to be exact and have over 40 websites and some of them are sites that implement Google Adsense. I have never had a problem with them showing relevant ads. However, one of my sites which has been making a lot of money with Adsense started showing ads that were not relevant about 4 days ago on the homepage and many of the inner pages. I am not sure why as the content is pretty much the same as it always has been and I haven't changed anything. Needless to say, Adsense revenue has dropped to almost nothing even though traffic is going through the roof! It is a site about making money and the ads are usually very relevant but lately most of them show one ad about investing in stocks and skin care. Just doesn't make sense. I turned off interest based ads but still it does not help at all. I am stumped on this one. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Scott P.
May be there is not enough content to show relevant ads, Or you can block the unwanted ads by going in to settings > review center
Thank you for the response. There have always been relevant ads for the last year until the last four days so that is why I don't know what happened. Thanks, Scott
Or maybe, there's not enough relevant ads for the keywords you chose or your content so they're showing other ads that may not be related.
If there isn't enough keywords on the page, then Google will have a hard time displaying relevant ads. Have you tried to make sure all your pages contain a title tag, meta description and on-site content before the ad? Or have you tried to block the relevant ads advertiser url?
The AdSense ads are not same for every visitor of your site. It depends on Geographical location first, then your content relevancy. Anything hidden is bad idea on Google.
It could be that the ads you are seeing are based on your previous browsing history. Google now tracks websites you visited and will present ads based on your browsing history.
