    " Forum software by XenForo"

    That's a matter of opinion ;)

I still say it's years away from competing against other paid script as far as function goes.

I have licenses for the major forum softwares ipb and vbulletin running on live communitys and xenforo is in a whole other league in terms of function and usability.

Licenses for xf cost less than the competitors and they have hundreds of styles and mods already available for members, with many more in development xenforo developers are moving fast to provide nice mods.. Xf out-of-the box offers many core features that rivals cant really compare with, take 1 click spam cleanup for example, you can instantly delete all posts by a user, ban them and there ip easily.

I used to be a really big Vbfan untill i bought Xen to see what all the fuss was about and i quickly learned the advantages and became a Xenfan.

I don't really like it, so wouldn't really want to buy one. I don't see why most paid forum software costs so much though.

I sure would not buy software from a company that is going through legal
litigation, sorta risky at best, and I sure would not code anything for a forum
software while it is in litigation period. If x-forum did anything that vb can
prove, then it would all have been a waste of time in the end, as x-forum
would go out of business and owe vbulletin lots of money.

Prove to me that actually one of the claims Internet Brands actually did file was in fact true. Also, why the hell would they file suit the day before xenForo first went on sale, amongst all other things?

I did not file the lawsuit, so I do not have to prove anything.

I am reading the same stuff everyone else is ready....

and to be honest, why would any idiot out of their right mind file a bogus/untrue lawsuit.
It does happen, but a counter suit saying vb is commiting defamation could cost vb
lots of money if what they say is not true. It is up to vb to prove their claims.

I only said I would not do business with any software as long as it is in litigation, and until
the case is settled, then x-forum might as well be up in the air, and their future not determined yet.

I do not disagree with that...

Just because i like icecream; I did not say add nuts...

VB does have some stuff that I have not even looked at, and doubt I ever will....

I think they crashed somewhat when they upgraded to v4

Too bad they do not really listen to their clients...

VB should solely focus on their forum, not by-products for a forum....and
when you try to focus on to much, you drop the ball like they have done.

I already have VB, so I do not plan on going backward.
I just hope VB starts moving forward, and not backward, but
companies have been known to cause their own downfall...

XenForo is great. Yes it's still quite young and does not have as many addons as vB.

But its damn quick, got a great foundation. and there are new addons coming every week by a great community of happy users.

I've only just started my new forum based on XF ( http://webmastercollective.com ) and I'm glad I chose it.

If i had to pick something other than XF it still would not have been vB...

IPB would have got the vote.

I played around with the free demo on their website for a while and I like how easy the admin area is to navigate. As far as comparing it to other forums, I think think it's not quite up to par with the big dogs like VB or IBP, however it is quite a bit ahead of the free alternatives. It will be interesting to see how it progresses. :)

xenForo is a solid option for those looking to start a new forum. Although it's missing some 'add-ons' such as a gallery or arcade option, the community is coming up with new options for those folks that need to have all of the bells and whistles.

I started one site TeeVeeTown.com and I'm in the process of having add-ons coded and a custom style finished to move over WaltDisneyBoards.com from vBulletin.
