Yet I wonder why atheists enjoy the "christmas break" ?

If I was atheist, I would demand to keep working right through the religious holidays :)

summer you're taking it too literally. Generalizations are just that.. IN GENERAL. Not absolute, not everyone.

I think sam made my point for me ;)

we've been over this. christmas isn't exclusively a christian holiday.

    it's not?

"Christmas or Christmas Day is a holiday that marks the birth of Jesus, the central figure of Christianity"

    hohum :p .

How do these threads get responded to?

    Muslims are not a race.

    Islam is a religion.

    Christianity is too.

Generalizations are racists? How so? Generalizing does not equal racism.

If you say all Christians believe Jesus was the messiah it is a generalization but not racist to say so.

Vice versa Islam/Muhammad or whatever...balh blah blah...

No Brum, they won't take that into consideration, or else they won't have anything much left to attack Islam!

Actually yo-yo, Saudi Arabia is officially an Islamic state that follows Sharia law. The US is not a Christian state.

    -The first ammendment.

Agreed... I being an atheist still send out a "merry christmas" mailing to members of my forum, makes them visit it:D It's too commercial a holiday.

That is the most pathetic thing I have heard in a long time. Every invention & reform that takes place is due to independent thinking.

Actually he's right. Christmas was a pagan festival that was assimilated into the Christian calander. This was to encourage pagans to convert while still allowing them to celebrate traditional pagan festivals.

Both Christmas and Easter were pagan festivals, Easter is the spring equinox, hance the eggs, flowers and bunnies symbols used. Christmas is the pagan holiday of Yule - the celebration of the sun returning.

It would be interesting to know what this loudmouth is babbling about, were he not jumping up and down like an incoherent baboon with its tail on fire.

You might know what he was writing about if you spent more time reading and less time responding.
