If you want to start split testing two different pages to see which one converts better, you need to start tracking the outgoing links. If you have an optin on there and want to know which one works better, just have two different web forms for each and you`ll see the conversions on your auto responder. If you are linking to some product, you need to have two different tracking links for each of your pages.

There are serious tracking solutions such as Affiliate Prophet out there, that are really good at tracking. But if you are just starting out and need to split test just two pages, you can do that yourself just the way I explained above, without making investments.

Use Google website optimizer, it's pretty straightforward yet it has most of the features you would expect of a good A/B testing tool. Simply add the versions of the page that you want to test against the control, set up your goals and you're good to go.

Its always better to do split test for all your landing pages. you can target more perfect niche in your landing page. It should be simple to read, easy to understand to end users.
