I got smartpriced 2-3months after i started one of my sites, and then after 1 year i see it has been smartpriced again....my clicks after first 2 months all went down 70%, now they have on avg gone down another 50%

, now its come to the point where i get over hundred clicks daily..but just a few dollars...

    so sad

    The short answer ... yes.

Smartpricing isn't something that just happens once, it is an ongoing calculation. Google seems to apply the calculation once a week. So, the effect of smartpricing can and does go up and down as time goes on.

oh man that sucks then, that means it possible to get smartpriced again, and then make 1 penny a click and if that happens then all the hard work went to waste..

can u imagine 100 clicks a day just to make 1$, that wudnt cover hosting

I think I'm being smart priced right now too.... I really really am starting to develop a deep resentment for google. I'd say they are doomed. The days of $400+ per share are going to end soon.

I'm sick of their arrogance and lack of help they provide...and the unfriendly way they constantly threaten to ban us.

    But...until I can find an alternative...I'm screwed!

I'm also being smartpriced..I'm averaging 7 cents per click now, whereas a week ago I was getting 20-50 cents per click.

So, you admit they are the best program out there, but you still resent them and think they are doomed? I just don't get people who make more money from Google than any other program, but still continue to trash them and complain about them.

What methods are required to avoid low click values or avoid smartpricing lowballing?

The only way to avoid getting dinged by smartpricing is to make sure the clicks you get are going to convert well. To do this get targeted traffic and make sure the people are in "buy" mode. For example a page about "The best ringtones" would probably convert better than a page about "why I hate ringtones".

I read that some people have gotten half a cent a click.

    Thats pretty bad.

Maybe try a CPM program or CPA program?

Google Analytics lets Adwords users set conversion goals. Advertisers can also see which pages refer customers to their sites and the percentage that convert into sales.

So if Google has this information, why are they being so secretive about smart-pricing? If they really wanted publishers to earn more, they would include these conversion rates in Adsense stats. Then we would all know which ads convert and from which pages. Publishers could then optimize the ads, drop them altogether, or improve the content on those pages. Everyone would be a winner.

As it is, we are all in the dark.
