I just signed up yesterday at VPS.NET and wondering where to store my website's files. Mostly my traffic comes from India, Philippines, US, Pakistan, Malaysia, UK. VPS.NET have cloud server from US and UK. Should I host it from US or UK?
You should host it where you want to rank better- UK or US - you can't get a geotargetting boost from both.
I think that the best solution will be to choose the location close to the target of audience you will have.
I believe that you need to contact them and tell your specific needs, their experts will help you to choose server location.
Basically page views increases if the website uptime is good and the bandwidth provided is also high, and if the server location is pretty long than the basic traffic user then due to latency time uptime reduces which causes the a bit decrement into the pageviews, so its better choose the location of server from where you have good traffic.
Well, i can only recommend 1 VPS In the US that i used, it was VPSLatch, and honestly, they're prices are pretty much on par with the other competitors, so was they're offering, it wasn't outrageous or unbelievable, but what was unbelievable was the support you get over there, nearly 24/7 support and when they say fully managed they mean it, every time i had a small hiccup regarding anything(even if i installed some mods, for example, i needed a squid proxy server, i just asked) and they hopped on right on it and did it super quick for me, no complaints, anything i needed they were always there. there was only one time in Quarter year that i used them that i had downtime, and they got back up in like a hour, from what i know they had some flip in the data center they use and it wasn't they're fault either. Again, trust none blindly, do your research, you should read reviews on them and other hosts online, google is your friend. Edit: Wow, sorry this was really off topic, i thought i was replying to another thread. regarding to the main topic here, it really depends where your customer base is, if it were me, i'd put it in the UK, again, most of my visitors on my sites aren't US-based, and UK servers are closer to where i need my stuff(though i don't host in the UK either)
Hi, I am now hosted at into vps. I am very satisfied with their service. The one that I am looking ever since my website received a lot of traffic. You can read my experience at this post of mine: http://www.moneytalksonline.com/technology/cloud-hosting-auto-scaling/. One of the best about cloud hosting is its ability to auto scale your server if the traffic spikes. And yes it is true that in cloud hosting you have to pay only for the service that you use just like electricity.
you should get many more VPS hosting provider into the market and but basically the everyone have different uptime and bandwidth. While selection check for the support and related search, i have hosted my vps at hostyourspace.co.uk.
I would suggest you go with UK based server as it have less latency rate compared to USA for South Asia.
