I was surprised to see the new video ads format that’s available for Adsense publishers. Has anyone tried it out yet?
I don't think they would fit into my site very well so I have stayed away from them. Others here a using them though, there are a few threads on video ads if you search for them
not sure if you're refering to a new service or the adsense square box ads that allow text/image and video to be randomly displayed on your site if it's that then yes i have it on my site...hasn't really helped lolol but then i made those ads invisible to logged in registered users hehehe
I saw the new format but there are two facts about using video ads. 1. They slow down your site 2. Your site lost score points when it comes to check cross browser compliance and compatibility under the British Disability Discrimination Act
I’ve tried getting them but haven’t had success yet. Since many people here say it slows the site down I think I’ll just keep the old format.
I get some Video ads on one of my sites from time to time. In my opinion they pay more and at least my visitors like clicking on them
My site visitors are on 56k..i used them once but visitors contacted me saying your site is slow then i removed it and now traffic is good again Saad
Whats the Cost Per Play? (so to speak - New phrase instead of Cost Per Click) How does it compare to normal ads - i wonder??
You don’t get paid for playing the video only for clicking on it. Everyone can play the video even the publisher because you only earn once someone clicks on the actual image to got to the advertiser’s site.
ohh that sucks - i thought it was every time it was played you would get like a small amount or something, ohh well, still good little idea!
If it paid out every time someone played the video than it would be worth it but since that isn’t the case I don’t think it will increase earnings.
This might sounds really dumb, but I dont know, so I ll ask. You need to set up your ads to ads/images for it to show videos? WHat is the format needed? large and medium rectangle will do it? Ed
If you go to the Adsense ad format page you can see the sizes that are supported. To get video ads you must set your ads for text and image.
