How to stop people using PM's until XX number of posts?

Is there a mod for this, or do I have to create custom usergroups that stop users posting until they have, for example, 20 posts?

Edit: Nevermind, set this up through the use of usergroups and promotions.

    no mod.

You would create a special usergroup then assign everything you want for that usergroup, then setup a promotion,
so when your newbie users reaches certain expectations, then he will be prompted into the group that you assigned.
his sig may kick in, PM stuff, profile, whatever you desire....

    admincp > UserGroups > Promotions

why use a mod if you do not need one as I explained above....

lets not use the tools already in VB, but lets go get a mod that vb can do anyway???

I have previously tried what you have explained, creating a new user group just not something I want to do..

the mod works adding new permissions, there is no need to create new user groups.
why even bother creating a new group, set up its permissions and promotions and everything else when the mod will do just that and only take 10 seconds...

but i guess it comes down to your personal preference...

    Thanks for this information Mister.Bingo!

I think most people who aren't familiar with VB, like myself, are confused on how to set most of these things up and Mods make it a lot easier. Just looking at setting up a new promotion--I'm confused myself ehh For someone like me, I'd rather use a Mod unless down the road it's something I have to worry about upgrades to VB and the mod not being compatible?

I think it's a very good mod. Have installed it recently, and it has other features like having to have a minimum post to view a thread, to view a post, to view attachment, to post in a thread, to start a thread etc. (Apart from the PM of course)
