Pictures & Symbols on Blogs

There are a lot of blogs out there with pictures and trademark symbols of companies like yahoo,google etc.

With these pictues and symbols do you need to get permission to use them on your blog .

If you need permission who do they ask and do they charge a fee.

If i am writting about information i heard on another site and have link to website at the end, can i use that website's images?
In my blog I'm writting about contests and want to have some images. Can I copy imagec to my server or atleast use link to the image in < img > so it will display on my website.

 

Giving a link or credit does not give you the right to use images, articles or any work created by someone else unless their TOS states so or you have obtained permission.

 

Would be illigal if I write article about digitalpoint and have picture of their logo on my website?

 

I don't know if it would be illegal thats what I am trying to find out. Look at this site .........They use the image of many sites. Do you think they got permission or because its an informational article with opinions and facts its ok.?

 

I don't think you can use a copyrighted image, or a trademark without written permission.
